Ladies of Hive # 183- 27th Wedding Anniversary of My Parents.

Good day Hivers! Hoping for a better day while reading my entry for Ladies on Hive Contest # 183- What was the last photo you took?

April 26 was the wedding anniversary of my parents. The celebration was not grand, but being able to celebrate was more than enough for my parents.

The photo is mine.

My Parents Love Story

My mother was a cashier at one of the furniture shops and my father was a helper at that shop also. Their love story is just an ordinary love story where a man likes a woman courting her and ends up having a relationship. The relationship resulted in a child and that was me. My mother was loved by her grandmother. She was the first granddaughter of their family, the reason why she was special to her grandmother. But my existence was secret to her grandmother. She didn’t tell anyone aside from her mother that she had a child. Since my father was re-assigned to a faraway place, in Cagayan De Oro City, communication also was difficult. My mother only sent a picture of me to introduce me to her family since we were far from them. Her family was in Cebu.

When I was born, my parents didn’t have a wedding. They couldn’t afford the wedding at that time, and they never asked permission for their relationship. I was two years old when they decided to have a wedding.

Why? It’s a mass wedding offered by the Cathedral in Cagayan De Oro City. The ceremony was free, they just had to participate in the 1-month seminar. The challenge they encountered before the wedding was, that the Baptismal of my father which was one of the requirements for the wedding was not submitted to the given allotted time of submission. Luckily, the staff accepted their reason, and they were able to proceed with the wedding. Even though their wedding was simple, the intention to make their relationship legal was the best choice.

Knowing the love story of my parents, inspired me to make a good choice in a relationship. Choosing a man who may be ordinary but can make an effort for his family.
