Let's Talk About Some Must-Have Traits For A Good Parent ||| LOH Contest #186

in Ladies of Hive26 days ago

Parenting is such an important job in our society, in fact, the most important. A great society starts from home, where parents do a great job raising their children to become responsible adults.

In this job, there are no written down manuscripts but all parents have distinctive traits that help them navigate this very crucial job. I call parenting the most intriguing adventure there is, it can be very challenging and rewarding at the same time.

In my response to this week's Ladies of hive community contest I will be talking about the top three traits for me , that I think is very important for all parents to have.

Trait One; Unconditional love

The moment I felt the existence of another life growing inside my belly, my whole world changed, I felt an unimaginable amount of joy and when I finally held him in my arms for the very first time, I felt like my heart could explode, the happiness in my heart had no bond. I felt like I had the whole world in my palms. And until the end of time, I will always feel this way about my son, no matter what.

That is love, unconditional love. One of the very important traits a good parent must have. Unconditional love is required of every parent, to give their children their best because every child deserves this kind of love.

Children need to grow up with this kind of love from their parents, and in their environment, so they can grow into happy and responsible adults.

We must learn how to tap into this love in our hearts, when we tend to them, when we feed them, clothes them, and nurture them and even when we correct their mistakes we must do so constructively from a place of love.

This love between parents and their children never ends, it is until death do them part, even when kids are grown up they still require their parent's love. Because the parenting journey as a whole does not have an end.

The second trait a parent should have is flexibility

A good parent must be flexible and keep an open mind when nurturing their kids. They must know that children are constantly changing as they grow, so a flexible parent will be able to adapt and adjust continuously as a child grows.

A flexible parent will realize that children are different and every child is unique in their way, and to get the best out of them a parent must be flexible enough to identify their unique personality and accept them for who they are.

This takes me to the third trait a parent should have, since in this contest we are to talk about just three traits a parent should have to perform their parenting role optimally.

Patience

Patience, they say, is a virtue. Bringing up a child requires a lot of patience from parents. This trait is required to teach them the right things from wrong, we need patience to be there for them when they get sick. When they are at their worst or their best. We need to be patient with them as they are growing and changing, to learn about them to be able to better guide them.

It takes some level of patience to teach them how to take care of themselves and grow into an independent responsible adult. When it comes to parenting, I don't think that, there is any amount of patience that can be said to be too much, because, trust me, it requires a lot. But do not worry it is inside everyone one of us.

One good thing is that we all have these important traits in us as parents, God makes sure there is an abundance of it deposited in us, we just have to learn to tap into it so that we can get the very best out of our kids.

Thank you very much for visiting my blog and for your support, until next time take care🥰❤

Yes you are right about flexibility. A good parent is always flexible. They have patience to treat their children with love and kind. Although there is the mistake of children but they handle it very sweetly. Well I am not a parent but my small siblings are just like children for me. So I agree with you 💯. Thanks for sharing such a point ful thought.

I can already tell you are a sweet and kind brother to your siblings.
And yeah, younger siblings as well need to be treated with a lot of patience, in order to get the best out of them.

Patience might be residing in all of us but we ned to put a lot of conscious efforts to cultivate this virtue. There is no doubt that good parenting needs a whole lot of patience as children constantly keep on doing things that tests our tempers at its fullest.

Unconditional love is necessary to give our kids the sense of security and protectivenes no matter how often they make mistakes.

Flexibility is also important as we cannot impose ourselves all the time. It may drive our kids towards rebellion or over dependence on the parents.

We have all the important traits we need to be a great parent, we just have to learn to tap into it.

Hahaha, anyone who cannot be tolerant should not even near parenting, as kids most times can get one nut.

These are 3 amazing traits from a parent to a child or children; unconditional love, flexibility and patience. The truth is, these kids will teach parents how to be patient because it is not easy parenting them. The greatest is the unconditional love. Trust me, even the first trait has covered for the rest because when you show an unconditional love to your children, you won't want to be inflexible and impatient with them.

You are right, unconditional love can be said to be the king of all the traits and it basically covers everything.

Yes, it covers everything 🙌

Thank you for sharing these valuable insights. Unconditional love, flexibility, and patience are indeed essential traits for every parent. It's heartbreaking to see children suffer due to a lack of these qualities. Your emphasis on understanding and adapting to each child’s unique personality is particularly important. I hope that every parents or intending ones learn from your post and strive to be better parents and provide the love and support our children need to thrive. Great post!

The good thing is, we all have these traits in all of us, as parents we just have to learn to tap into it so we can give our little angels the best life they deserve. !LUV

Thank you very much for having me. ❤🙏

I was literally looking out for patience because I know how important it is in a woman’s life when raising a kid especially when you know that the kid is just a kid and is prone to act with no logical reason

Yes, Sis, patience is super important, kids will always behave like kids, and parents need a high level of tolerance to handle them.

When children grow under the care of their parents with love, they turn out to be asset to humanity. A child raised with love would live with others in love. This kind of love from home is what is lacking in some instances that you see kids grow up to become nuisance and threat to peace. In cultivating this love, flexibility and patience are important ingredients. 💯❤️

That is well said dear, I feel for some children who lack some vital parental traits, especially unconditional love from their parents.

Unconditional love is a must trait to possess as a parent regardless of how the child looks or whatever the child is facing. I have seen a parent treat her imbecile child so harshly. One of my friends also had a baby boy when she expected a baby girl, you needed to see terrible she was treating the innocent child. There's no form of love or affection...infact she shouts at the baby as if he is an adult...if that child should talk,I am sure he would reject the mom. Unconditional love doesn't select and should be a must trait.
I love the flexibility aspects, so important as children are endowed with different potentials and then patience. If we can't be patience with our own blood, then it's a challenge to be patience with people out there
Thanks for sharing this amazing traits and insights
I got value 👌

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. 😊🥰🙏

I felt so bad for such a child who the number one person who was supposed to love her let her down.

It does not matter how a child looks or their condition, they deserve to be loved unconditionally.

May God bless all great parents out there who do not discriminate no matter what.
