Having a technical foundation have created a lot of opportunities for many today. technology is no longer for tech people these days every small business owners like myself are relying on it to make our work easier, faster more profitable.
The most amazing part of having this technical skill is that most people are now gainfully employed remotely.
Especially women's, who are taking care of the home and kids they no longer seat at home doing nothing they make money using their phones and system and I most say I am super proud of them.
I usually thought that technology is basically for those tech guys with glasses and having big computers and some complicated software. But I was wrong, I had to learn how to use some these tools right on my phone and this changed my mentality. Some problems and tasked are done smoothly and fast through the help of the skills I learnt.
I use the technical skills I learnt to run my business and here are ways I do that:
- Social media for sales and marketing
Social media has replaced the need to have a physical store, most people shop on line everyday.
I have a Facebook, Instagram, and tiktok account that is dedicated for my work. I usually post .y before and after pictures of my clients including products like lashes nails, gel polish and other beauty items.
Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook are my biggest tools for attracting customers.
- Simple Design Apps for content
Through the help of my canva, and flyer maker I can now design some catchy graphics for my business, although I am not a professional graphic designer but having the basics knowledge have saved me some money.
This has made my brand look more professional and neat.

3.online learning
Because I want to do better I had to enrol myself to learn product design and management.
Aside watching YouTube videos I usually join some free online classes to learn some skills. I also pay for classes. I am presently learning how to run Facebook ads and how to edit videos. I will be using them for my marketing.The more I learn, the better I get at attracting and keeping customers.
Technology has gone beyond having gadgets, it's now about using them properly to make your work easier and faster. It's an abuse to that gardget if you are not exploring and making better use of it. Learning some basic technical skills help you to secure
Even in a busy place like Aba( my current location) where business is often done face-to-face, technology allows me to serve clients who are far away and keep my business growing.
