Digital profession going forward is a wise move. Learning to be balanced in life it sounds like Mom taught you well by example.
Subconsciously I think we strive to make our parents proud, knowing the sacrifices they made for us.

From young we are taught to work, share duties making the family life easier.
Once you grow older you realize how much your parents guided you, it is that was drives most to please their parents.
