Introduction
This monster is Bera Dallin. She would be supported by a unique summoner called Avina of the Wolf and that gives her an extra ability, Heal. These two combos will be consistent and on top of other supports that would make Bera Dallin almost unkillable.
Unless they kill Bera Dallin, no team can get behind the supports of this strong defensive tank.
Bera Dallin's stats are good as a tank. She has high armor and health and good abilities to complement them. The damage is decent for what the level of the game is but the tankiness is what she really needs and what she really shines with. Overall, really great card.
Bera Dalin's best abiity is the Shield ability. It halves the damage of both melee and range damage which is 2 of 3 damage types in the game. It works well with Taunt ability and her high defensive stats creating a really solid defense for your team.
Armored Strike: [Attack Modifier] This monster can do another melee attack using its armor.
Taunt: [Defense] [Target Modifier] Opponent's monster will be forced to attack this card, if possible.
Shield: [Defense] Monsters with Shield ability reduces the incoming melee and range damage by half. If the damage is 1, before the effect applies, the damage is negated and becomes 0.
Void Armor: [Defense] Monsters with Void Armor ability can use their armor to block opponent's magic damage.
Pros
- High Defensive Stats. Bera Dallin has high armor and health which is really good for tanks. The Speed is also decent so some of the attacks will miss.
- Complementing Taunt, Shield and Void Armor abilities. Not only attacks get redirected towards him, he halves all melee and range damage. For magic attacks, the armor blocks it because of Void Armor. These trio abilities are really good and complements each other.
- Complements with Life Splinter. Life Splinter have a lot of good supports. They have vast amount of monsters with Tank Heal and Repair. Some of the monsters also have Resurrect ability making this Splinter one of the best Splinters to use a Taunt-main strategy for your lineup.
Cons
- Armored Strike, Void Armor and Taunt are not good combinations.Taunt redirects all attacks towards her and this makes her armor lower by each attack. Since Armored Strike is based on your current armor, Bera Dallin usually doesn't get to attack with that ability.
- High mana cost.Bera Dallin costs 11 mana which is actually high for a single card. While it's objectified why the mana cost is high due to its stats and abilities, it doesn't change the fact that it's still high and bad on low mana fights.
- Some rules of combat can be destructive.Rules of combat like Healed Out or Unprotected can be really bad as it hurts not Bera Dallin but the monsters supporting her. Without the support, that Taunt will be a bad ability to any monster since it kills them faster.
Armored Up |
All monsters gain +2 armor for this battle: This affects Bera Dallin positively for both Armored Strike and Void Armor. She gets an extra 9 melee damage with Armored Strike if she attacks first then have that extra armor block the magic damage towards her.
Up Close & Personal |
During this battle, only monsters with melee damage type are allowed: Since Bera Dallin have Shield ability tha halves melee damage, this is a good rule of combat for her.
Super Sneak |
All monsters on the board gains the Sneak ability that changes the targetting mechanics of monsters with Melee damage to "Opponent's monster that is on the last position.": Since Bera Dallin has Taunt ability, your opponent's Sneak attacks will just get redirected to Bera Dallin but your Sneaks will work properly if the opponent doesn't have any Taunt abilities. |
Equalizer |
The Max Health of all monsters on the board will be equal to the Max Health of the monster with the highest max health: Bera Dallin has really high health and if your opponents used a lot of high magic damage monsters, it may overwhelm your tank while getting the benefit from Equalizer. |
|
Unprotected |
All armor and effects that involve armor are disabled during this battle: With this rule of combat, armor in that current game is completely removed. This means Void Armor would not work including Repair and Protect abilities. This makes her vulnerable to magic damage since her only other defensive ability is Shield ability that does not affect magic damage. |
|
Blood and Sunder |
All monsters on the board gains the Corrosive Ward ability that permanently reduces the opponent's max armor by 2 when their melee attacks hit: This affects Bera Dallin positively for both Armored Strike and Void Armor. She gets an extra 9 melee damage with Armored Strike if she attacks first then have that extra armor block the magic damage towards her. |
Venari Crystalsmith |
Since Bera Dallin has high health, Tank Heal is really good for her.
Adelade Brightwing |
Not only she has Repir ability, she also has Resurrect ability which allows Bera Dallin to be revived with 1 health and max armor. Since Bera Dallin has Void Armor ability, it would take quite a bit to kill her after being revived.
Junker |
Since Junker has Reach ability, he can sit on the 2nd position while attacking and using Repair on Bera Dallin's armor. He can be a secondary tank if ever Bera Dallin dies as well. |
This is not the best lineup for Bera Dallin but still a really balanced one. I've got Bera Dallin as the main tank protecting everyone with Taunt. Avina of the Wolf's Heal Summoner Tactics is given to Bera Dallin for that extra survivability. Adelade Brightwing supports her with Repair and Resurrect abilities. Venari Crystalsmith also has Tank Heal to top it off. This gives Bera Dallin a total of 2 heals and 1 repair every round or 10 health and 2 armor per round. Celestial Harpy is a filler because I don't have anything better to add.
Lineup
Avina of the Wolf
Good summoner on the right team. Among the two abilities, Heal is the better one as the extra speed may be good but less consistent on opponents missing their attacks.
Bera Dallin
Really strong tank if supported well. She has decent damage but cannot carry if you only rely on her damage.
Adelade Brightwing
Good support with high armored monsters. Repair and Resurrect are the most important abilities. She can also dish out extra magic damage which is good.
Venari Crystalsmith
Decent mana Tank Heal monster with 3 range damage. This is a monster for Life Splinter that you should add in every lineup you have regardless of your team composition. She is just too good to not use.
Celestial Harpy
A 2 mana cost filler which is far better than Xenith Archer. The Opportunity attack combined with True Strike makes a consistent damage on the back row every round.
While the opponent has high damage, my heals and supports are stronger. They can't kill Bera Dallin while not having any sustain on their own so my Bera Dallin can just take all the damage and my team will slowly weaken their team each round until I win.
Bera Dallin is a really strong monster. With high health, decent damage and great lineup of defensive abilities, she is a strong monster that the opponent will struggle to kill. With proper support, this is one monster that will be a tall wall for your opponents to climb.
I really should be using her more often as I get the higher win rate from Bera Dallin. One weakness of her is that she is expensive to buy and rent so unless you have a good amount of rental budget, it would be expensive to consecutively use her.
This weakness is good still if you consider the fact that you would win more. Her good abilities is hard to counter. I wonder if she can fare well in Diamond and higher league.
