Vol 1 - Collection of Thoughs

This is Volume 1 collection of my thoughts on Substack that I originally shared in Notes form. My thoughts are kind of long and all over the place, but I still wanted to share them here.

Writing.

Like, you can waste your thoughts and ink on a sentence saying “toss your phone into the sea,”

and then you can make it more romantic by saying “toss your phone into the ocean,” just by swapping one word.

Or you can make a bunch of people very upset by saying “toss your phone into the Indian Ocean,” because now it’s too specific.

I love words!

It’s interesting how the world is built around this idea that if you do just one thing and obsess about it, you’ll eventually become successful.

That works for some entrepreneurs, sure. But with ADHD, it doesn’t work like that, at least not for me, because my mind is racing and I have seven different interests at the same time.

So I’ve realized I need to build multiple income streams, because I can’t lock myself into one thing and get totally obsessed with it. Writing is probably the closest thing to that, but it’s not exactly paying my bills.

So that’s it. I have no idea how to succeed in life.

I’ve decided to stop calling my texts blog posts, because I feel like they’re more than that — they’re essays, or at least that’s what I’m aiming for. So I’m an essayist, not a blogger. And maybe that little mindset shift will do some good for me.

A gun on a table is just a piece of metal. It’s harmless by itself. It only becomes harmful when a human picks it up and uses it to create chaos and sorrow.

And the same goes for AI. AI itself is not evil. It didn’t decide to be built that way. It’s us, how we interact with it and how it was built, that makes it harmful.

When are we going to start blaming the humans behind the creations instead of the creations themselves?

I dislike the people who come and tell me that I need to write something deep and contemplate it for three months before posting. Same goes for drawing.

I don’t want to create alone.

I want to share my creations — even the silly little thoughts I have in the middle of the night. Why can’t I? Just let me.

I would’ve been so much happier living as a hunter-gatherer, walking through the forest in search of my next meal.

But here I am, writing witty remarks on other people’s notes and stirring chaos.

I was asked today what I see in the future, and I went on a long rant about how I think we’re heading toward Feudal Society 2.0, one way or another.

It’s just sad if, as a collective, we really choose to keep playing the games of the rich while letting the other half survive on nothing. Because that’s where we’re headed if AI takes all the jobs.

I like AI — it’s not the AI’s fault, it’s the fault of greedy companies obsessed with squeezing their bottom margins.

Why do we live in this era that is just about social proof?

I saw a TikTok where an artist went to an art gallery and asked how to get their art over there and the answer was 10k following.

Now I saw over here a cartoonist who wants a book deal and it seems like she needs 60k following in order to get that book deal. Like what is this? Why? Why is it not enough to be talented? Why do you need the social proof as well? Just exhausting.

I have been reaching out to companies because I’m a copywriter. No one answers my emails, but when I send messages from my TikTok account that has 4,800 followers, everybody answers back to me. This era is just wild.
