Have a Sneak Peak: Graduation Pictorial Episode

Hi, everyone! It’s your girl, Reshy. Your newly welcomed Hive member. In this blog, let’s have a sneak peek at my graduation pictorial look, along with my friends and classmates, and of course I will be telling you how my graduation pictorial day went.✨

So, yesterday was the scheduled day for our graduation pictorial, so I had to get ready and look beautiful because it’s just a once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot as a college graduating student.

I was so excited that I woke up so early in the morning—at 4:30 am, to be exact. Aside from being excited, I also have makeover bookings from my classmates and good friends. That is why I have to get ready first and do their makeup after since the pictorial will start at 9:00 a.m.

I took a bath and blow-dried my hair first. Before I proceeded with the makeup, I had my breakfast so that I could focus on my makeover.

After eating, I started doing my makeover. I wanted a fresh but glamorous look, so that’s what I did. I started with my moisturizer, sunscreen, brows, foundation, powder, eyeshadow (eye makeup), blush, contour, highlighter, lipstick, and lastly, makeup setting spray. It took me an hour to finish my makeover. I also changed my clothes after doing my makeup.

Also, take a look at how messy my things are after all that makeover. But it’s fine; I got used to it. I have to arrange and pack it now.

After doing my makeover, I packed my things and messaged my classmate, Gee, that I would be coming over to do her makeup. We decided to do their makeup at one of our classmates’ places. I told my father that I would be going and rushed to my classmate’s place. I had three makeover bookings in the morning and two in the afternoon. It’s going to be a long and tiring day for me, but I’m still happy because I am earning. Before I forget, my freelance makeup business name is Enchante' by Reshiel.

When I arrived at my classmate’s house, I went inside and arranged my makeup and tools so that we could start doing the makeover. Two of my classmates were still not there when I arrived at the place, but we decided to start Gee’s makeover so we would finish early. We started doing her makeup at 7:00 a.m. Gee showed me a reference to the look that she wanted. She wanted a brownish, fierce, and no glitter look for the graduation pictorial.

Not long after, two of my classmates, Jane and Claire, arrived at the place. I am also almost done with Gee’s makeup. After Gee’s makeover, I proceeded with doing Claire and Jane’s makeup. We finished doing their makeover at 10:00 a.m. They all look so beautiful in their graduation pictorial makeup looks, but the makeup artist (me) already looked sweaty and haggard😞. I retouched my makeup, and then we all went to the school for the graduation picture.

At the school, I saw my parents there waiting for me because I told them that I wanted to have a photo with them so that we would have something to keep and look back on since I would be the first child in our family of eight to graduate from college.
Fast forward: we went inside the pictorial room and met my other classmates, who were waiting for their turn. Others are still having their makeovers because the photography studio also has its own glam team.

Time was running out, and it was almost lunch time. The photography team announced that they would cater to one last person and then take a lunch break. I was kind of sad because my parents were there, and they have to keep waiting until lunch break is done. So, I approached their team manager and asked if they could cater to one more person because I did not want to keep my parents waiting outside for too long since the weather is so hot. Yes, the parents were not able to get inside the pictorial room since the room is very small. They can get inside if it is their child’s turn for the photoshoot.

Luckily, the team manager considered my plea and said that they would prioritize those students who have their parents with them. They catered to two more students, including me.

When it was my turn to do the photo shoot, I immediately called my parents to get inside the room. They went inside and watched me do my solo photo shoot first. It was hilarious because I felt so awkward, and I don’t even know if my smile was nice. I even got confused when the photographer said to do a side-view pose but still face the camera. He meant that I should tilt my body and keep my head facing the camera. I felt so dumb that time, but I just laughed it off.

When I was done with my solo shots, the photographer said that I could now take photos with my parents. We posed for three shots. I am very happy to be with my parents. They often tell me how proud they are because I really did well in my studies and I will be the first college graduate in the family.

After taking the photos with my parents, their team manager called me so that I could change the toga into Filipiniana attire to take another photo wearing it. It was beautiful, and I love it.

The time ran so fast, and I was done with the photo shoot. My other classmate went in next, and after her photo shoot, we had lunch together with our friends outside the school.

Lunch break was done, and we went back to the school since some of our friends hadn’t had their photo shoot yet. And as for me, I have two more makeover bookings, and we decided to do it at the school since there are a lot of vacant rooms there. These two people are my friends from the other section, Cath and Mav. They are both beautiful, and they even looked more beautiful when I finished their makeover.

Honestly, I was having second thoughts about whether I should accept or decline this booking because I had been really tired since morning, from getting ready to doing my three classmates makeover. However, deep inside me is telling me that it would be a waste if I let this opportunity slide since it’s already a big help for me to earn more money and pay for my other school fees. So, I accepted it and did their makeover, no matter how tired I was. Actually, I was tired yet happy because I love what I’m doing. I love this work. It’s very fulfilling for me since it’s my passion.

When I was done with their makeover, I kept and packed my things and went to the center of the town with my friend, Jane, to go get some snacks and catch up with our other friends. We got some fries and drinks.

We even bought the same dresses for our planned beach outing soon. I really find this funny, but I love it. We will surely look good in these dresses.

We didn’t spend too much time there since we’re all tired from the photo shoot. After a while, we all said our goodbyes and went home.

It has been a long and tiring day for us, but it was fun. 😊
