My thoughts on cosmetic surgery - Ladies of Hive Community Contest

in Ladies of Hivelast month

Hello. This is my first time participating in this contest. I'm not very good with financial matters, so I'd like to answer the other question instead.

Nowadays photos and videos showcasing the beautiful bodies of young people garner millions of views. While girls dance in crop tops, low-rise sports shorts and bikinis, boys prefer to surprise us by cooking on YouTube. Embracing the rule that cooking without fire is impossible on YouTube, they cook with a little fire and only wear aprons. There's a real explosion in appearance around the world and if you adapt, you either get the likes you deserve or spend all your time in the gym becoming a cosmetic expert, fitness trainer, nutritionist, etc. But even if you go that far, chances are you won't be able to showcase bodies like Instagram celebrities. So what's the problem? Let me share my thoughts. Everything's fine with your body.

Tiktok is filled with content that will help you achieve your desired goals and this content is dedicated to food. Everyone finds videos tailored to their interests and those preferring healthy eating and those wanting to lose weight come together. The one thing that unites all the videos is the incredible presentation of food. Super organic products, incredibly beautiful people and the amount of food that could be called a light snack complete everything. I've delved into the topic and managed to establish healthy relationships with healthy eating. But what about those who haven't managed to do that yet? There are those who struggle due to their age, for example, younger individuals. They try to fit into a certain hashtag lifestyle. Such content inspires many people and helps them make conscious choices for a healthy lifestyle. However, it can also create a harmful belief in people's minds: Healthy foods consist only of salads and chicken breasts and even small amounts of gluten, dairy, or sugar can hinder your health. It can make you feel guilty for what you eat and this feeling doesn't go away for those who eat like you while others snack like birds on Tiktok. But in my opinion, the real goal isn't to conform to this aesthetic but to eat healthily and balancedly and have a healthy body.

Meanwhile Tiktok and generally other social media platforms often clearly demonstrate how we should look. Some social media platforms still take pride in promoting a certain body size and image over a healthy and balanced lifestyle. However, such clichés don't always exist in the real world - we are people with different body types, heights, weights, eye colors, hair colors, skin types. We've become accustomed to the idea that having a sleek body is often achievable by overcoming all the challenges in the gym, but the body wants to live free from stress and burdens, not participate in a survival marathon. The brain knows what needs to be done to stay fit and beautiful, but the body objects.

Today you don't need to spend millions or go under the surgeon's knife to look flawless like goddesses on the internet. Because there are technologies and filters that come to the rescue, you can add or remove what you want, making you look almost flawless as if you've descended from heaven. This applies not only to ordinary people but also to celebrities. I scrolled through an Instagram account and came across something showing both processed and unprocessed famous figures. And I saw that the level of perfection we're accustomed to isn't actually real. They look like ordinary people too. So they're not perfect.

In my opinion, a perfect appearance doesn't determine our worth; each of us is unique and equipped with our own beauty. True beauty, to me, lies not only in our outward appearance but also in how we love and accept ourselves as we are. Because of what I've shared, I never consider turning to cosmetic surgery.

Thank you so much 💜🌺

Dear Sara, you've made a very beautiful point here, we don't need to go under the knive to look beautiful, the things we see online are often not real, they are just deceit, we really do not know how they look in real life.

This was a good read 💜, thank you for sharing this nice thoughts 🌺.

You enumerated some of the hazards of “healthy” eating. I love food and rather than feel guilty over what I eat, I’d rather remain “fat”.

Cosmetic surgery, I believe, should be helpful and not mandatory. The thing is, once we have the opportunity to change what we don’t like, we take it the extra mile.

Thank you. It's great that you prioritize enjoying food and feeling comfortable with yourself. 👍

Hello Sara, I'm glad that you joined us in the community. Welcome :)

Today you don't need to spend millions or go under the surgeon's knife to look flawless like goddesses on the internet.

Very true. There's photoshopping and what have you that are involved in making almost everything aesthetically desirable even when they aren't in real life. I agree with you on how things are happening these days on social media and even on television.
