LOH #225- Beyond "I Love You": Showing Love in the Way You Understand Best!

Today, sharing my experience and our journey as a couple is a great pleasure. It's a great pleasure to answer one of the questions given by @trucklife-family.

1️⃣ When was the first time you said, "I love you" to someone in your life other than family? And tell us what your 'love language' is.

On April 29, 2013, I confessed my love to my boyfriend, Arjay.

It combines nervousness, excitement, and raw emotion. The world appears to be holding its breath momentarily; my heart is racing, and my palms may sweat. There's a slight fear and a surge of hope, similar to jumping off a cliff and hoping to fly rather than fall.

My entire being feels warm, and everything in the universe appears to have fallen into place. An instant of pure joy.

For the rest of my life, I'll remember the day I told him, "I love you." It's a memory that, like a song, never gets old. Every detail of that day, from how my eyes looked to how my heart pounded, plays out like a beautiful film. It almost feels magical.

I recall the butterflies, the sensation of time slowing down, and the intense feelings of vulnerability and joy. Saying "I love you" to someone I genuinely care about for the first time is more than just a moment; it's a watershed moment, a profound emotion I can still recall years later as if it were yesterday.

He gives me all the love languages I need, which is how we've evolved throughout our nearly 12-year relationship.

A love language makes love feel more profound, intimate, and fully understood. It's like having a unique way to express and receive affection. My heart skips when I hear affirming words, feel the warmth of a long-lasting embrace, receive thoughtful gifts that show I am loved, spend quality time with someone who makes me feel important, or witness acts of service that demonstrate love in action.

Love feels natural, reassuring, and undeniably true when spoken fluently. It's like speaking in a language that only my heart fully comprehends.

My man never tires of speaking all the love languages I require, making me feel incredibly fortunate and happy.

It's as if you're indeed seen, heard, and valued. Our love makes me feel safe, valued, and secure, which fills my soul with happiness. From his words to his actions, everything he does makes me feel as if I'm in the company of someone who truly understands and values me.

My heart is filled with joy and gratitude, and it's overwhelming in the best way. Knowing that love is expressed verbally and manifests in ways that reach me exactly where I need it makes me feel fortunate, loved and at peace.

Words of Affirmation:
I value genuine remarks, assurances, and meaningful conversations that show me I am loved and appreciated.

For my heart, it feels like a warm embrace. My partner's encouraging, comforting, and endearing affirmations serve as a gentle reminder that I am loved, respected, and valuable. It instantly lifts my spirits and gives me a sense of security and understanding, like a spark of joy.

When I hear "I love you," "I'm proud of you," or "I appreciate everything you do," it's more than just words; it's love expressed authentically. It provides me with joy that lasts long after the words are spoken, as well as reassurance and optimism.

Acts of Service:
I feel loved when my partner looks after me in ways that go beyond words.

It's like love in action: genuine, thoughtful, and incredibly reassuring. When my partner does something nice for me, no matter how small, he's saying "I love you" without saying anything.

It's the feeling of being cared for and knowing someone will work hard to make my life easier or more enjoyable. It warms and gratefully fills my heart when someone assists me with something meaningful or does something without asking. It's the most meaningful love I've seen, felt, and appreciated.

Quality Time:
I value special moments with my partner and am happiest when they give me his undivided attention.

It's a feeling of being seen, heard, and appreciated. The outside world seems to vanish, and we are the only two of us for a brief moment when my partner pays me undivided attention and spends quality time with me.

Whether it's an adventure or a relaxing evening, it's the comfort of simply being together, the warmth of meaningful conversations, and the joy of shared laughter. His presence is more than just being physically present; it is about connecting with me, which makes each moment feel special. It's love that has developed over time, giving me a sense of significance, value, and profound love.

It's the thrill of sneaky glances, the comfort of late-night conversations, and the realization that you're connected even when you're not talking. It is chosen consistently by someone who has seen your best and worst sides. When two people are in love, even simple things like holding hands, eating together, or simply being in the same room become significant.
