Today, I want to share a story of mine. Because I feel that sharing it will bring me at ease. I had a dog when I was 7 years old and it was a stray dog. I was very young back then and was scared of dogs but one day I was going to the store to buy some snacks. I bought some biscuits that time.
When I was going back to my home, a stray dog started to follow me. My mind was full of fears, I got worried that he might bite me. But to my relief, he did nothing violent. Instead, I was surprised by his expressive eyes and the way his tail wagged with excitement. He seemed like he was about to dance with excitement. Meanwhile, my fear had gotten away.
I decided to stand at a distance then I offered the dog some biscuits. He devoured the food very fast and I saw that his tail wagging again. After that I started to walk again and noticed that he was following me around. I asked him not to follow me, but he seemed ignorant.
I thought of running but then I remembered that my mom told me not to run Infront of a dog because I could provoke them. So, I had no choice and had to keep on moving. After a while I got frustrated, and I shouted with my lungs out, hoping to make him go away, But instead of leaving that dog was looking at me with his big pleading eyes, as if he was asking for a pat. After that moment my frustration was gone, and I smiled back at the dog.
When I reached home the dog followed me there and was standing at the door, he was waiting for me to invite him in, but I knew that my mom wouldn't like it. Then I took a blanket from my bedroom and wrapped it around him and carried him inside my room. Later that night, I saved some of my food at dinner and quietly fed him under my bed.
I had been hiding him and secretly caring for him for a few days. Until one day, my mom found out about him after he had pooped beside my bed. My mom's face turned red as she got mad at me for bringing a street dog into our house she said it wasn't a good idea, and she doesn't feel safe at home anymore. Suddenly, I was feeling the guilt, and I began to cry and I begged my mom to let the dog stay.
After some time my dad came home and I ran to him to hug him. I pleaded him for the dog’s stay in our home. Few hours later, my dad managed my mom. Then I realized that the dog could stay, my joy knew no boundaries. I did not believe that it actually happened, because it felt like I was still having a dream. The dog was finally a part of our family who was once a stray dog. I decided that we were gonna create many beautiful memories together.
But two days later, I took him for a walk there he spotted his family. I found out that he was already someone else's pet. My heart was broken as I knew that I had to let him go. I hadn't even had the chance to give him a name. I cried for hours, when I reached home alone, my heart was full of sadness. My parents noticed that I'm crying out loudly, and when they also came to know about the truth, they felt sorry for me. After that incident, my mom bought me a plushie which looked like him, but in the chaos of moving to a new city, I had lost it.
credits
In the end the memory of that sweet little dog ached in my heart, with some bittersweet memories of the love we once shared, even if it was for a short time.
In recent time I've plans to adopt a dog in the future when my family allows one.

Sad, but the moral of the story would be to first find out if this dog belonged to someone else before committing our hearts. It's no surprise we tend let our emotions decide for us before establishing the facts only to become heartbroken later on.
I feel that the actual owners were negligent in providing a collar with a name and address written inside. At least it would indicate that this dog is owned and saved you from all that anguish.
