I'm free from the social media BS.. mostly. I have a bluesky account and HIVE.. that's it.

Only have X and Reddit accounts just to prevent impersonators from taking my username there. Effectively banned on FB (was asked for KYC).
I use Hive exclusively. There is no second best.
I was somewhat hesitent to delete my account for a similar reason but I decided to not let it bother me.
If I did get impersonated I'd just deal with it when it happens.
I guess you save a lot of time and mental health by skipping a lot of social media. I use X because its the best for following news imo :)
Yeah, 90% of it provides no value to my life and the news these days I avoid anyways cause it's just 3000% doom and gloom.
I have X, Instagram, and Reddit accounts, but the only one I use at all is Reddit, and that is very rare compared to how it used to be. Ditching facebook years ago was one of the best moves ever.
I had to get off the toxic Twtr, I am pragmatic though and use FB to stay in touch with friends. Mostly I just use Hive and Mastodon which are both decentralised. We need more people to see Hive as a viable option.
What does a Bluesky account do? Connect with families and friends like the rest of the apps?
Its basically an alternative to twitter/X I use it to keep up with some artists and streamers without having to deal with all the garbage on X
Wish I could do the same, especially for X. I mostly use X and YouTube when it comes to traditional social media. The good still outweighs the bad for me at this point in time :)
I've kinda given up on X, it's just full of scammy ads and racism these days.

Yeah its a pretty awful place, glad to be done with it for good.
