Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: Fog Of War

in Ecency13 days ago

Good day all splinterlands warriors, how are you doing today?
Crypto traders were worried a few days ago when Bitcoin traded below 63k. There were rumors that, “it could be pre-halving, Israel and Iran conflict, and tension from Bitcoin holders”.
There are people that are big time crypto traders and Whales. There could be tension from them about the change that would occur before Bitcoin halving. We read it in history that the price of Bitcoin often falls.

Before I write about the splinterlands game tonight, I will talk about what I learned today.
There was a trader that lost $1 million in the recent crypto tumor. He wasn't crying for the losses but went to a platform, and shared his experience.
Few hours after he shared his experience, he received over $1 million from the community he joined.

What did I learn from him?
The power of community: community is very important either virtually or physically. It is good to be in a community and well recognized.
If he wasn't in the community, he would have lost that forever which could have resulted in trauma. I have been helped by communities several times; I have been given gifts from communities.
Splinterlands Community is one of the communities that helped me. I met philanthropists that gave me cards, and Dark Crystal Energy (DEC).
Community can be of help to you when you are challenged. The crypto trader was able to bounce back after loss as a result of people he surrounded himself with.
When my splinterlands account had problems, I was referred to a channel that helped me to solve my problem.

Resilience: he didn't give up! He didn't stay indoors and cry his heart out! He was working hard to get his money back. There are some people, when something happens to them, they don't know what to do. They easily give up and blame themselves or others; they are hostile and do not think how to recover.
This man was doing everything to recover from his loss, and he got it.

Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge
Fog of war can come in any form: you might be given magic, melee and range attack monsters. You may not be given all the three attack monsters- you may be given only magic or melee or range to fight in fog of war.
The one I shared below, I was given two monsters to fight the battle.
Understand that melee monsters with opportunity and sneak cannot attack in this battle except they lead the battle. That was the reason that Kulu Mastermind, Deeplurker, sabre shark, sandworm and Pelacor Bandit could not attack in their position. They only attacked when they led the battle.
Therefore, fog of war ‘rule set’ disallows sneak and opportunity monsters unless they are in the first position.
The sweetest monster to fight in fog of war rule is magic monster. Magic monster attack irrespective of the position; a range monster cannot attack in first position except a range monster with close range ability.

Rules of the battles

Lost Magi: Monsters with magic attacks may not be used in battles.
This Ruleset ruled out magic monsters in this battle; and that was the reason magic! Monsters were not available for selection.
Without lost magic, magic monsters would have been available.
Fog of War: Monsters lose sneak snipe and opportunity ability.
This is the rule of the week!
Range monsters with snipe ability would not be able to snipe but attack monsters in first position. We all know that sneak monsters attack in the middle; when fog of war is activated, snipe monsters can only attack in first position.
magic monsters with snipe and sneak abilities attack in first position.
Melee monsters with opportunity and sneak monsters cannot attack unless they are in first position.

Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from monsters and summoners.
Even though healing monsters and summoners are available for selection, the healing ability will not be useful.

Mana: I was able to make a good decision from the 45 mana. The mana gave me the opportunity to choose my best monsters and a summoner for this battle.
I was able to make precision decisions in choosing the best monsters and a summoner.

Arrangement
Alric Stormbringer**
Summoner: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
At this point magic monsters were not allowed in this battle. Therefore, I didn't choose Alric Stormbringer because of the magic ability. I selected Alric Stormbringer because of some monsters such as the kraken, Noa the Just and Swamp Spitter. The three monsters were very important for me.

Monsters Arrangements"
The Kraken*
Splinter: Water 💦💦
Level: 1⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Taunt
Health: 14 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor: 3 🪖🪖🪖
Attack: Melee
Mana: 12
Using a small mana monster in the first position such as Diemonshark when the Mana given could accommodate a monster like the kraken was not a good option.
More mana would be left after selecting all monsters necessary.
I understand that only the monster leading the lineup would be attacked even without the Kraken. The high health of the kraken was very helpful, and that was the reason I selected the kraken. It was not easy to eliminate the kraken because of the health.

Noa The Just
Splinter: Water 💦💦
Level: 3 ⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 6 🚤🚤🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Rust and Dodge
Health: 6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor: 5 🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖
Attack: None
Mana: 5
Noa the Just was the only monster I had with rust ability; I knew my opponent would use a summoner with armor because magic monsters were not allowed.
That was the reason I brought in Noa The Just to reduce the armor of opponent monsters.
With Noa The Just, it was very easy to eliminate opponent monsters.
I also knew that even if the kraken was eliminated, Noa the Just would be difficult to eliminate because of the dodge ability and armor.

Kulu Mastermind

Splinter: Water 💦💦
Level: 1 ⭐⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Weapon training
Health: 9 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Magic
Mana: 9
I knew Kulu Mastermind would not be able to attack due to fog of war rule, but I needed it to give Noa The Just weapon training ability in case it leads the attack.
It is evident that if Noa the Just leads the attack, it would attack the opponent monsters because of the Kulu Mastermind adjacent to Noa the Just.
That was the reason I used Kulu Mastermind

Water Elemental
Splinter: Water 💦💦
Level: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 4 🚤🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Healing
Health: 5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Range
Mana: 5
You could see that I used a monster with healing ability; yet, if the monster is attacked it wouldn't be able to heal itself.
From the Water Elemental, the rest of my monsters were range monsters. Since I did not use a monster with reach ability in the second position, the only melee monster that could attack is the kraken.

I knew that the three range monsters would attack; and my opponent would have to eliminate The kraken, Noa the Just and Kulu Mastermind before a range monster (Water Elemental) could lead. Before my opponent would eliminate all the melee monsters, I knew something would have been done to opponent lineup.

Swamp Spitter
Splinter: Water 💦💦
Level: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 3🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Repair
Health: 5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor: 2 🪖🪖
Attack: Range
Mana:7
Well! Swamp Spitter's repair ability was my target since there was no magic monster. Swamp Spitter was the biggest factor behind the kraken resilience. If not Swamp Spitter, The Kraken would have been eliminated.
It keeps on repairing the armor of the kraken which made it difficult for opponent monsters to eliminate the kraken.

Halfing Alchemist
Splinter: Neutral
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
Speed: 2 🚤🚤
Ability: Halving
Health: 1 ❤️
Armor: 1 🪖
Attack: Range
Mana: 2
Halfing Alchemist was needed to break the weapon of opponent monsters.

Round one
The moment I saw that my opponent was a level 6 summoner. I knew that winning the battle would be luck for me; luck must be on my side for me to win the battle.
When I saw that 5 of his monsters were melee monsters, I was very happy because only two of his monsters would attack while 4 of my monsters attacked.
It was Water Elemental that started the attack, it attacked Diemonshark, damaged its armor.
Diemonshark was the second monster that attacked, but it attacked the kraken, damaging its armor. By the time, Swamp Spitter attacked, it repaired the Kraken's armor.
By the end of round one, there was no monster that was destroyed.

Round two
Toward the end of round 2, Diemonshark was eliminated.
In round 3, two monsters were eliminated from the opponent 's lineup. Toward the end of round 3, Sandworm was brutally injured- it melee was broken from 6 to 3, and its health was damaged.
That was the reason I used Halfing Alchemist in this battle: halfing kept breaking the weapon of opponent monsters.

Round four
Sandworm was eliminated. Toward the end of round 5 Pelacor Bandit was eliminated. The reason was that all my monsters missed the attack.
