Ever feel like your creativity has deserted you to vacation in some far off dreamscape leaving you to struggle to come up with creative ideas for writing or creating content? I know the feeling and have often experienced it.
About three years ago I created an email list to help with that and drag some creative juices back from their dreamscape escape.
Every morning at 5am EST an email is sent out by me to a list of people looking for creative inspiration. The list is called “Prompt A Day”. The prompts are designed to challenge and inspire you to draw out your creativity.
Today, I decided to add another prompt which will start arriving in subscribers inboxes on Wednesday June 7th. The new prompt is a “Creative Non-Fiction” prompt bringing the set of prompts found in each letter to five
They are:
Word of the Day: Ignite your imagination with a single word. Let it be the catalyst for a poem, a story, or a personal reflection. This is your chance to delve deep into the power of language, finding beauty and meaning in the simplest of phrases.
Non-Fiction Prompt: Turn your gaze to the world around you. Our non-fiction prompts encourage you to explore reality, offering a fresh lens through which to view your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. This is an opportunity to craft narratives from truth, and in doing so, understand yourself and the world a little better.
Creative Non-Fiction Prompt: Here's your chance to play with reality. We provide a theme, and you bring it to life with your unique perspective and storytelling flair. Combine the authenticity of non-fiction with the creativity of fiction, crafting a narrative that's as engaging as it is true.
Fiction Prompt: Embark on a journey of endless possibilities. Our fiction prompts invite you to weave tales from the threads of your imagination. Create characters, explore fantastical worlds, or spin a plot twist that leaves readers on the edge of their seats.
**Quote Prompt: **Draw inspiration from the words of others. Reflect on a thought-provoking quote, and let it guide your pen. This is your moment to engage in a dialogue with thinkers, writers, and artists from around the world, gaining wisdom and insights along the way.
A Peak At Prompt A Day
To give you an idea what the prompts look like here are screen shots of prompts for Monday and Tuesday. Use the prompts any way that fits your creative work. Use them on another day, combine them, change them — whatever works for you.
They are meant to give you inspiration, there are no rules on how you use them.
