Ecency's first! RC level tracker/indicator (improved user experience!)

in Ecency Helplast year

I know everyone is pumped about $Hive right now and I don't want to kill that vibe. Let me just sprinkle some more toppings on the good vibes that we are experiencing right now. And this additional topping is brought to you by @ecency's latest update on the Ecency web app!

If you are paying attention to the details of your Ecency app you will notice a cool-looking Resource Credit level tracker/indicator, right there:

pretty cool right?

And there's another here on the Create Post page...

You might not realize the importance of this new tool by Ecency but let me tell you... This is going to change your Hive experience from here on.

For the most part of your growth here on Hive, you are mainly focused on your Hive Power, however, there's another important asset or resource you haven't realized yet and that's the Resource Credit or simply RC.

The RC is the "credit"/"a form of token or currency" that allows you to perform transactions here in the Hive platform. These transactions are upvoting posts, making comments, making posts, reblogs, & making transfers; it's a big deal.

And it's an especially big deal for the new users who have enough RC to make a few transactions each day. It's a big deal for the new users who only have 10 gRC (5.50 HP) or 20 gRC (11 HP); these are the kinds of users who have a very limited number of transactions per day. And the indicator that Ecency has provided on the frontend is the most helpful info that these new users will need.

I was once a new user on this platform and had a low RC level back then; there was a time when I'm feeling frustrated about why my transactions can't get through and all the frontend is saying was that there was an "internal error". And I don't even know what it meant until I found out that my RC is depleted. That was a really bad "user experience" back then.

Thankfully, the Ecency app is now displaying my current RC level and on top of that, it also displays how many specific types of transactions I can still make with the level of RC I have. Awesome!

There's another advantage that I wanted to point out here.

Yes, I have a lot of RC which is more than enough to last me a lifetime, in fact, I wasn't bothered by the level of RC that I have until I started claiming Account Creation Token or ACT. My full RC level is 14.234 trillion RC, it sounds like a lot but it's only good enough to create one (1) ACT every 2-3 days. That's true if I don't want to deplete my RC completely. And in my case, claiming an ACT is done manually.

With the Ecency RC indicator displayed on my profile, I'm certain that I can do proper management of my RC. And I can make sure that I can fully utilize my RC by claiming ACTs almost immediately when my RC level is enough to claim a new one(s). So, this update is pretty helpful for everyone and I'm certain that the users of Hive through the Ecency app will start paying attention to their Resource Credit from now on.

Lastly, I want to congratulate the Ecency team for the continuous improvement of the Hive user experience with the Ecency app. Kudos!!!

I love being able to keep track of my RC this easily. This update came just when I needed it, since for the first time since I started on Hive, I got a message about not having enough RC to post my comment just hours before. That's what comes from trying to compete with the big fishes in the Ecency Leaderboard Challenge 😹

What is this Account Creation Token you mention though? Is it something small people like me should aim to aquire, and if so, can it be bought piecemeal? I doubt I'll have trillions of RC anytime soon...

The Account Creation Token is a by-product of RC, it allows you to create a Hive account for yourself or for someone else. You need to have about 6000HP to have enough RC to claim an ACT every 3 days. I don't have enough HP and so I bought an HP delegation from DLease:

https://hive.dlease.io/

I think that having ACTs in the future will allow me to onboard more people in Hive and if this ACT becomes valuable enough that people would buy then I would probably sell it :)

Thanks for the explanation, and for the link! Leasing some HP might be something I should do, once I'm certain I can pay for it :)

You're welcome. It's my pleasure :)

You can access the claim ACT in your Peakd wallet here:

We are going to add that to Ecency.com soon!

I consistently claim ACTs, so that's really cool of you to add that feature. Tired Wednesday Morning GIF by giphystudios2021

This is something I'm really happy to see. As a low HP hivean, I've frequently run out of RC when attempting to post or comment, and recently have been logging in on peakd to check my remaining RC's. The implementation is really nice too, subtle, and everywhere you'll need to know how you stand. Awesome work by the @ecency team. I'll have to take a closer look at the ACTs and see how they work. Thanks for this bringing us this valuable post @curamax

You're welcome @thebalanceguy, and you're right the Ecency team is working hard to deliver improvements to the app. The recent addition of RC bar is very helpful for me because I'm always on the watch tracking my RC.

Do you have to tell them they have the right to remain silent?

I don't understand several things about the modifications, and even worse, it's difficult for me to publish since they made those modifications because when I ask where to publish an article, it gets stuck and doesn't publish; I imagine that this happens because of the modifications they made, before I published without any problem because I have enough RC, I really do not understand what is happening.

If you can shed light on me, I would appreciate it.

I think I seen so monay post but your posts hade unique valuable content. I am new to join hive. I can learn something new in your for improving my self in hive can please follow me. It was help for me
