Some of you may know I’ve been participating in this blockchain for almost eight years at this point. You could say I’m close to first generation, although I may have missed the starter pistol’s boom by a few months.
Through the years, I’ve been promoting this blockchain and have even managed to onboard important influencers too. They’ve left for “greener” pastures, but I wonder what would happen now if we knocked on those doors again.
You see, before, we had to explain how a little-known token, Hive, was not a scam—how it came to be, what it offers, etc. This conversation is almost always met with skepticism at first. It’s not a secret that most people don’t know about this place and thus feel distrust—some things are too good to be true, after all.
The dynamic today, though, the “sales pitch” if you will, can be completely different. Saying to someone something along the lines of:
“Hey, come join our platform. Free speech here IS a thing, and you can make some Bitcoin if you get traction”
is not an exaggeration nor an obfuscation of the total truth—not like before.
I submit to you that starting out the conversation with Bitcoin as the “header of the page” already sets the correct mood—it breaks the ice, if you will.
Once someone is in, so to speak, and learns about the current and upcoming projects on here—the power of legacy + innovation that HBD and V4VAPP offer, the HBD debit card, etc.—I think we are bound to make the “new recruit” a solid Hiver without much effort.
Let me ask you: Do these projects give you the boost in confidence you need to recruit skeptical minds?
MenO
This is actually a smart approach. People already trust Bitcoin, so leading with that makes onboarding way easier. Gotta admit, earn Bitcoin while posting sounds way more convincing than explaining Hive from scratch to anyone
go for it!
you got it man, spreading the word 💪
Adding a Bitcoin to the promotional campaign is a great move, as it opens the door to attracting attention, especially among crypto enthusiasts.
Once someone can generate income on Hive and link it to Bitcoin the platform becomes more attractive and easier to trust.
Bitcoin is already trusted, precisely that's the point.
I think our resistance to censorship is our strongest selling point as global and local political tensions rise and corporations even more openly disregard web2 social media users. Some countries and communities will benefit more than others from the crypto side of things, but free speech is a universal need.
The focus has to be free speech, no doubt. I'm careful about promising success, hence why my cautious wording.
Earning Sats is addictive, You have been upvoted, but you can only earn Sats once in a 24hr period, to make it harder to exploit of course. So you will earn somone sats, likely on your next post...
It is nice to read this detail, @btcgeek1, as they are important to understand, in getting this new community off to flying start. Given you seem to have knowledge beyond most about it, do you mind a related question?
Well this makes a lot of sense, and I will keep this in mind for next time. But regardless, I'm so pumped I could inflate a car tire with my lungs.
It is still misunderstood in Western part of Africa, especially when the government is unfriendly to crypto. The amount of scams kills the curiosity to explore safe path like Hive and OneBitcoinClub. I believe that it will take more time to fix the problem of trust and hard evidence to make younger people to join.
