I know the title may sound a bit strange but I'm not a megalomaniac who wants to enhance the role of women in the world of cryptocurrencies.
But being a woman, I'm curious to understand what our role is in a sector that until recently was predominantly male.
In fact, in recent times there has been a strong increase in women investing in this sector and this suggests to financial analysts that the crypto markets are stabilizing as women have greater risk aversion than men as confirmed by a recent study by the NATIONAL BUREAU OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH .

Despite the high volatility of the sector, bitcoin is starting to capture the interest of women, since the introduction of KYC procedures in crypto exchanges has led to the emergence of a large presence of women adopting this type of currency.

A 2018 survey commissioned by the crypto investment app Circle Invest , carried out on over 3,000 Americans among Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers, revealed that the percentage of men willing to invest in cryptocurrencies was more than double that of women: 18% versus 7%.

In just two years, many things have changed, statistics are starting to find a new balance, today women working in sectors related to blockchain technologies have increased to 12%, in 2020 ICOs and startups related to blockchain technology led by women are strongly increasing, CoinMarketCap has seen growth of over 40% of female users in the last three months of 2020.

In short, data in hand, GIRL POWER is breaking through the world of bitcoin, hundreds of women are involved in blockchain and its implementation and some occupy the first places in the ranking of the most influential women today in the crypto world.

For sfblockchainweek there are 17 women making a difference in the world of blockchain, check out their post .

Even in my country, Italy, something is moving, according to a study released by N26 institute which has about 5 million customers in 25 markets, Italian women manage their finances in a more conscious and effective way than men.
From a study on a group of Italian women between the ages of 16 and 64, it emerged that 81% of Italians plan their annual financial goals and 84% manage to reach them, thanks to the fact that 87% have a greater control of expenses.
Regarding investments, 97% of the sample declared that they invested intelligently and consciously during 2019, while only 3% said they lost savings due to incorrect investments.

In my opinion, an interesting phenomenon emerges from all these data and numbers that I know make our head spin a bit, and that is, we women understand investments, even those in the crypto sector as a form of protection to protect ourselves and our families rather than a way to enrich ourselves.
We are cautious and do not get involved in the feelings of the moment when we decide to invest.
The last data and then I close my post, but I want to share it because I pleasantly discovered that even the category I am part of, makes great use of crypto, in fact, according to a report in Europe, the women who use cryptocurrencies the most are included between 26 and 45: millennials and generation X.

No, I'm not a millennial unfortunately 😔, but I too, like many other women, began to get passionate about this sector in 2017 trying to learn as much as possible, the only problem is that it is a sector so in turmoil that you never stop learning new things and we must always be up to date.😉

I hope I haven't bored you too much with my stats and thanks for taking a look at my post.
