Don’t get me wrong, there are times where we must priotize the needs of others in order to show love. However, taking care of ourselves is crucial for our overall well-being and happiness.

It involves activities that help us relax, recharge, and rejuvenate, it also refers to rejecting things, that could be detrimental to our overall wellness. One thing might be , past negative experiences, people who were trained up in families were the parents showed them with little or no love, tend to have a low self esteem and this might lead them into not being able to take proper care of themselves ,
Another thing is the society we live in today, in today’s world people now lay so much emphasis on physical beauty, and material possessions that they make it hard for most of the young populace to appreciate themselves or find joy in their achievements as they compare it to the seemingly big achievements of others, and this can lead to feelings of inadequacy. Which affects their mental state.
BUILDING SELF LOVE THROUGH SELF CARE
IN order to build self love, you need to Practice a good self-care routine. This is mainly because as you take proper care of yourself you’ll come to love yourself for what you have become. Thus developing self love. It’s also important to remember and note that self-care and self-love are not selfish acts. In fact, taking care of ourselves and loving ourselves is essential for our overall well-being and happiness.
Set boundaries. Inarguably You’ll love yourself more when you set limits or say no to work, relationships, or activities that deplete or harm you physically, emotionally, and spiritually, or express poorly who you are. People might take you for granted if you are always at their beck and call, so learn to say no at times. And stick to it, so you can be fit to offer them help the next time, they need it.
Forgive yourself. As humans, we’re often very very hard on ourselves. That is the reason You have to accept your humanness (the fact that you are not perfect) before you can truly love yourself. Try being less hard on yourself when you make a mistake. The most important thing is to learn and grow from your mistakes. Remember, there are no failures if you have learned and grown from your mistakes.
And not to forget try to talk to people you trust if you ever feel down, look up to people for help if you struggle with low self-esteem and confidence.
