Hello, Hive friends, here's my purchase. This is my third piggy bank of the year; it's a little savings challenge I set myself this year, and I love clay piggy banks. I love the feeling of filling up my piggy bank and then breaking it open and seeing the pieces of clay and coins.
Did you know that in the Middle Ages, piggy banks were made from a cheap type of clay called “pygg,” and over time the word ‘Pygg’ became associated with “pig” because of their similar pronunciation? You could say that pig-shaped piggy banks are the result of a combination of misunderstandings.
