IF I COULD .......

If you could ...... time travel, where would you go?

Personally, I wouldn't time travel. I have too many painful memories of loss that is not worth repeating despite the numerous incredible memories. Today is too wonderful and tomorrow holds so much promise. Why would I want to go back?

However!!!

If I could go anywhere just for the day ....... oh then, undoubtedly, my choice for this day would be a glorious sun-filled, sea-filled day on the coast. Bliss.

Can you hear the roar of the crashing waves? Do you feel that heavy spray against your face? Do you smell the salty sea air? Do you see the endless stretch of blue ocean merging into blue sky?

There is something about the vast stretch of ocean that ignites hope. I could spend all day walking in wet sea sand, as the waves splashed around my legs. If I close my eyes and listen I can still hear the deep calling.

Having spent my childhood on South Africa's South Coast in the sea at every opportunity I never cease to long for the ocean. On the rare occasion that I do return, it is as though I have never left. As much as it feels like home, I belong where I am now.

The beauty of the shoreline's fauna and flora always amazes me. Tiny buck forage in the dune's vegetation, which is often covered with striking flowers. But like my time at the sea the flowers do not last forever.

It's been very long since I took a seaside walk down memory lane. However on this #SublimeSunday, inspired by @c0ff33a and another #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108; I would choose a warm, windless day at the ocean.

If you could be anywhere, where would you be....?

Yes, the ocean is a beautiful and inspiring place. Something about the vastness of the ocean and the sound of the crashing waves also makes me feel small and yet connected to something much larger than myself. I can imagine why you would choose to spend a day at the ocean if you could go anywhere but I won't feel being at home at the ocean like you. I'm too use to the convenience of the city my whole life.

That is so well put! Feeling so small and yet connected. The ocean certainly is a beautiful place but if you're happy in the city then that is also wonderful. We each have our special place where we are home

After one glance of these photos I wouldn’t mind being there. I have never stepped foot on ocean sand and I long to be able to do this one day. I would just stand in awe at God’s beautiful creation, listening to all the sounds around me.

As far as time traveling I think I’d like to stay where I’m at. I too wouldn’t want to visit the past and I’m not in a rush to see my future ~

Truly? That is so sad. I can't imagine never having set foot on the seashore. I spent hours every single day of my childhood running over the dunes and swimming in the sea. I do hope you get to have the experience one day. Because it is without doubt a beautiful part of His Creation.

As far as time travelling in any direction! DITTO!

Wow, I can only imagine what kind of joy that was for you. I do pray I am able to experience it. 🙏🏽

Yes, yes, yes - the ocean and beach are such wonderful places to ponder, wonder, and dream BIG. Coincidentally, I just returned from a vacation staying right at the ocean to the daily and nightly roar of the surf. I can't imagine a more beautiful place. I'm already missing it...

That is exactly how it feels - like you can dream BIG. I'm sure you had a wonderful time. The best part of the ocean is hearing and smelling it all through the night. So special

I would be somewhere similar. I wouldn't mind wind though. When the seaside is windy, there are fewer people there, and the sea's power is augmented, blends with the power of the air we breathe. I am transported to another time, another dimension, another age when I lived at the edge of the ocean. On brisk November days, I would feel the pounding of gods in my heart.

There's wind and then there's WIND! I love ocean spray carried on the breeze. A soft wind over the seashore is wonderful. But where I grew up the wind would rage and whip the waves into a frenzy. Then the sand would slam against you off the dunes, blowing gales in every direction and simply torturing anyone brave enough to venture to the shore

haha, yeah. Not that kind of wind. Just blustery enough to make me squint a little as I turn my face into it. No one there at all, no one. That's when I love the ocean best.

If you could be anywhere, where would you be....?

There are so many places I would love to visit and experience. The locations in these photos would be nice to visit!

Hello dear friend @buckaroobaby good morning
What a beautiful place to travel in time and enjoy the tranquility and harmony of nature, I love the sound of water breaking on the stones. Beautiful photographs, I appreciate you sharing with us.
Have a wonderful day

Indeed @jlufer! It is quite something to behold the tranquility and harmony of that powerful, crashing ocean. Thank you for your kind comment
And a delightful day to you too

Looks lovely by the sea there! I do miss the ocean alot, you do get used to living next to it.

Oh once you have lived by the sea it is difficult not to long for it if you leave

Of course I'm looking at this looking at how surfable those waves are - and if there's any sharks...

There are shark nets out 200m if that's any consolation....but we also have dolphins so you should be fine. When I was training as a lifesaver we used to swim to the backline and then stop just short of the shark nets. And THAT is hair raising
