White Donkeys at Lake Neusiedler

At Lake Neusiedler you can find White Donkeys in Illmitz. There are only 320 individual animals of this species left and they are very endagered. There might be some more of these white donkeys in Hungary with unknown number since they might be in property of different farmers who don't provide the numbers of these donkeys. Because of this fact the white donkeys need to be protected. I was on a birdphotography trip when I took these pictures of the white donkeys but since they where on this meaddow where I could find several endagered birds that also live there I took some pictures of them. One of these birds is for example the whinchat wich is also endangered here in Austria.

The wild living white donkeys are a family attraction for young families with their children so you might find several families there who show these animals to their children and therefore it is sometimes a bit crowded there. But since it is a nationalpark you need to stick to the restricted walkways and are not allowed to trespass the meaddows due to protection of the birds and other animals and plants.
