The beauty of Aquascape as a mini-underwater ecosystem

Hi Hive Lovers

Aquascape is believed to be one of the best therapies that can freshen the mind, and you can even enjoy it in your bedroom. Through an aquascape, you have brought the beauty of natural life from the wild outside into your home.

I am sure that no one can resist the beauty presented by an aquascape. However, if you intend to own one, then you have to provide extra time to continue maintaining the health of your mini-ecosystem. You need to monitor water temperature, oxygen levels, light intensity, etc. If you miss one of them, then your aquascape will not be able to look beautiful all the time.

Some time ago, I visited my uncle's house, which had just built an aquascape, and I took some photos of its beauty for you. Previously, my uncle had often asked me about how to build and maintain an aquascape. I had already built my aquascape, and if you are willing, you can check it out in some of my posts.

2. Colored-fish

3. Albino brushmouth fish

4. Mini-shrimp

I have taken photos of them during the day and at night so that you can distinguish how beautiful they look at both times.

The 5 photos above are photos I took during the day, and the 5 photos below are photos I took at night.

Building an aquascape is like moving a living aquatic ecosystem consisting of aquatic plants and other freshwater biota, which is also combined by presenting elements of other inanimate objects in one place to resemble their natural habitat.

The appearance of an aquascape looks much more natural compared to an ordinary aquarium, which only holds water and puts some fish in it. It seems stiff and not optimal for providing relaxation therapy for someone who enjoys it.

Like the natural habitat of a freshwater ecosystem, the presence of various types of plants, sand, stones, wood, etc. in an aquascpae will further complement the beautiful appearance of the artificial ecosystem and will provide more comfort to the freshwater biota, especially if ornamental fish are added to it.

However, if you want to put fish into an aquascape, then you have to really choose the type of fish you want; you can't put fish that can damage the plants in it. Some types of fish also eat aquatic plants, right?

Water that moves due to air bubble machines also greatly determines the health of the mini-ecosystem in an aquascape. Water movement is not only needed by the fish in the aquascape but is also needed by the aquatic plants there to help their photosynthesis process.

Plants and aquatic biota in an aquascape also need enough light. The light that illuminates an aquascape is a substitute for sunlight in its natural habitat.

This light is really needed by aquatic plants and the fish in it, so the light there not only functions as lighting but is left on continuously. Excessive light will also damage the plants and invite the growth of nuisance moss, so it needs to be regulated. Just the duration of the lights on is sufficient, like day and night in their natural habitat out there.

Meanwhile, inanimate elements such as sand, rocks, and pieces of wood twigs become balancing elements for plants and freshwater biota in the aquascape. Balance is the key to an ecosystem, even if it is a mini-ecosystem that you bring into your home.

If you already understand the basics of artificial mini-ecosystems, then you can start building your aquascape. They are very beautiful and interesting, aren't they?

Just so beautiful.
I like the photos you took in the night more.

Beauty is different during the day and at night, and thank you for liking either one.
Have you ever had your own aquarium or aquascape?

You are welcome.
No, I don't.
