Hello everybody! In August, I went to the neighboring city of Belgorod and on the way visited the famous lotus pond. It's located in the village of Bykovka, Yakovlevsky district.

Привет всем! В августе я ездила в соседний город Белгород и по пути посетила знаменитый пруд с лотосами. Находится он в селе Быковка Яковлевского района.
In Russia, this exotic plant can be found in the Far East, in the Volga River delta in the Astrakhan region, in the Kuban. And now, thanks to one family who brought seeds from the Far East, lotuses are growing in the Belgorod region.
В России это экзотическое растение можно встретить на Дальнем Востоке, в дельте реки Волги в Астраханской области, на Кубани. А теперь благодаря одной семье, которая привезла семена с Дальнего Востока, лотосы растут и в Белгородской области.
The lotus, which grows in a pond in Bykovka, is a rare relict plant listed in the Red Book. It's strictly forbidden to pluck these plants, otherwise you will have to pay a fine.
Лотос орехоносный, который растет в пруду в Быковке, является редким реликтовым растением, занесенным в Красную книгу. Срывать это растения категорически запрещено, иначе придется заплатить штраф.
This year, the pond was equipped with arbor and a bridge, and it became more interesting to watch the lotuses than from the shore. Some daredevils even go into the water to take a photo with lotuses.
I hope that these rare plants for our area will delight visitors with their flowering for many more years.
В этом году пруд оборудовали беседкой и мостом и наблюдать за лотосами стало интереснее, чем с берега. Некоторые смельчаки даже заходят в воду, чтобы сделать фото с лотосами.
Я надеюсь, что эти редкие для нашей местности растения будут радовать посетителей своим цветением еще много лет.

Какая прелесть! Мне и в голову не приходило, что в Белгородской области могут лотосы расти. Я раньше в Белгород часто ездила в командировку.
