Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 166

in Amazing Naturelast year (edited)

Hey there my Hive friends and followers!

Welcome to the 166th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round. If you want to create a separate post as your entry, you can do that but please always remember to submit your entry in the form of a comment here in this post as well. I only check the entries submitted here as comments.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. I also give some smaller upvotes on the other entries too so that all participants get rewarded for their engagement.

I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

The weather has been better lately with a decent amount of sunshine and mostly pleasant temperatures but my real life busyness has been preventing me from any bigger trips or hikes, unfortunately. Most of the stuff happening in my life right now is very personal and I don´t usually share such things here but I might come up with some kind of update anyway because I can already feel that I won´t be able to keep up with my regular Hive routine again. But that´s for another post. This one should be about appreciating beauty of nature so let me tell you that I got to appreciate the beauty of that lovely blooming (cherry?) tree earlier today, just a few hours ago actually, while taking a nice relaxing walk around what the locals call the Central Park here in the Stodulky neighborhood of Prague, Czech Republic.

In the last round, we had 8 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Thank you @phortun, here is my entry. My 2 friends and I visited Daylesford located in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia. The shot was taken in park of Hepburn spring. Here is famous for its natural mineral springs so we came to taste them. It was a lovely sunny day in autumn. The air was crisp and the sunlight shone through the trees making it a wonderful day to be out and enjoying the outdoors :)

@onlavu with this entry from the Czech Republic:

Hi @phortun. As everywhere in northern hemisphere is blooming, the sour cherry tree in my backyard has bloomed as well. I took the photo today. Location: Istanbul, Turkey.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Thanks for picking my shot last time. My today's contribution was taken at the end of my trek through my beloved Jeseníky mountains (Czechia) yesterday. Those rocks can be found at well known Lost Stones (1250 m.a.s.l).

Beautiful with the sunrays through the clouds!

Wow, it's stunning shot. I love it.

A couple of times a week, while cycling, I pass by a secondary road, an old asphalt road paved several years ago, where I find what is believed to be the largest pine tree on the island of Ibiza, the Pino de Besuró. It is a tall and imposing tree, but what impresses me the most is the latticework of its branches. It is truly spectacular. Last Sunday, making an effort, I decided to take my Fujifilm X-E2 with me, taking the risk that if I fell off the bike, the camera could be destroyed. It wasn't and here is a picture of the main trunk and its imposing branches.

Thanks @phortun for this open space to publish images of our environment.

Hey there, nice to see you here again! Thanks for sharing this picture of a truly remarkable tree with us, I love it :)

Many thanks @phortun for your kind words!

I have a long holiday this week and returned to my hometown to enjoy the beach sunrise.
I took this picture this morning
Location - Nha Trang City, Vietnam
Device - Pixel 3

Wow, that´s a breathtaking scenery, thank you! :)

The rocky shore of Antofagasta

antofagasta-costa-015.jpg

The photo shows he rocky shore of Antofagasta, this is one of the main features of the sea side of this city of the north of Chile. The tide was not high nor low, it was normal and the waves were low. Due to the rocks there is almost no space for beaches that people can use for bathing at sea. Notice that the sky was uncovered and having a beautiful blue color that contrasts with the deep blue of the ocean.
It was taken a few days ago while I was walking along the sea side.

A bit too late for this round unfortunately but still a great shot, thank you :)

I was so excited to go back to Keukenhof, in Lisse The Netherlands, on 25 April 2023. After visiting on the opening day on March 23 - I wanted to see what the garden would look like a bit later in spring. The gardens will close from 15 May so this was my chance. I went with a friend and we spent 6 hours there enjoying every section of this 32 hectare botanical garden. It was extremely busy there but it was not disturbing. The garden was overwhelming beautiful although the weather has been colder than normal. The trees are still not fully green but it was beautiful nonetheless.
@phortun - I tried to get the same shot. It was not so easy but this is my entry.

You remembered, that´s nice :) Very busy indeed but so beautiful, wow! Thank you! :)

Yes I did. I just made a post about this visit - if you would like to see some glorious photos. :-)

Ok let me see :)

Nice! I hope I can find the time to cycle to the tulip field next week.

Aww I hope you can as well. The fields are gorgeous and is not only located at Keukenhof. If you would like to see that location - I just posted about it.

I know, I live nearby 😉

Aww that is so nice - a dutchman. I am in the big city.

I live near Leiden, so cycling distance from de bollenstreek 😊

My friend @phortun , on Saturday, I left home to go to the park where I usually spend hours of enjoyment with nature, since it is a dream. I am from Venezuela and live in Buenos Aires. On the way, there are trees planted on the sidewalks. Suddenly, something caught my attention; it turns out that when I looked up at the top of a tree that still has its foliage, I observed the beautiful shades of its leaves. A still deep greenness and a yellow that denotes that they will soon fall. Autumn is doing its work, to give way to the cold winter. Without further ado, I send you my capture, taken with my Samsung a-12.

Hey there, nice to see you here with such a cool entry :) Beautiful autumnal greeting from Argentina, thank you!

I am very happy to participate in this round166.
This time I decided to participate with a picture that I took three days ago in my commune, being an agricultural area we have here hundreds of hectares of rapeseed in bloom but today I will not add such a picture but a picture in which we can see the beauty of nature and something else, the monument of the heroes.
In 1944-1945 the area where I live was the site of bloody battles where many young Romanian soldiers aged 18-20 died.
This monument is erected in their honour, I really like the contrast between the monument and the stunning nature that surrounds it.
I hope it bodes well and that you like the photo I have chosen to share with you here.

Hi @triplug! Thanks for showing us another interesting place from your beautiful Romania. Tragic history but very nice and peaceful place today. May those young soldiers rest in peace...

You're welcome!

Just a piece of grassland along Wisłoka river in Dębica. Dębica is around 30k people town in Polish Podkarpacie region, actually nothing special there, and this is just the nicest natural spot I was able to find. Pic taken last saturday.

Hey Przemek, good to see you here again! Maybe not as fancy as your stunning Tenerife landscapes and seascapes but still a very nice entry, thanks :)

I took this shot yesterday during a walk over the Veluwe, The Netherlands.

I hope you will join us indeed :) And thanks for checking out the winning entries from the last round!

Awe thanks, looking forward to your entry :)

Gorgeous selection as the winners.
We will miss you here if your presence is lessened on Hive - but offline life always comes first as you know. All the best wishes.

Aww, thank you :) I cannot tell how much I will have to reduce my activities here yet but no worries, I will be still present here in some form for sure ;)

Ok that’s nice.

Beautiful shots! I should have taken some snaps of my yard after I mowed the lawn yesterday, but I was too tired. It was a rough day!

I can imagine, grass mowing is a decent workout :) It will be May already in a few days so I´m sure that spring will arrive to your region soon too and you will be able to share some nice fresh natural pictures with us in future round ;) Cheers!

Yeah, I have a feeling I am going to be mowing my lawn twice a week before I know it. I am lucky that I only have about a quarter of an acre. I just do it all with a push mower.

I can't express my feelings towards nature in words. I love nature ❤️. Mountains, rivers, lakes, grass , rain, flowers, all these things give me a feeling of refreshness.

That´s good. Now if you are such a huge nature lover, why don´t you join us in this challenge? :)

Thank you @phortun!

My pleasure! Greetings to you and your amazing cherry tree! :)

I always wonder how people take beautiful photographs like this
This is so fine

Which one? :)

I loved your photography of nature that always attracted me. Those photos come out really wonderful 😍

Thanks but only one of them is mine, the first one. The other 3 are the winning shots from the last round. It´s all mentioned in the post...

Excellent choices man. I don't know if I'll be able to participate this week. I had a nature photo in my post today but I decided it wasn't good for this contest. Maybe I can take another photo.

Take it easy my friend, this challenge is about fun so no pressure ;) Join us whenever you want...

Hola @phortun.

Hello @phortun. We take a look at your fascinating blog, after several technical problems that we overcame a few days ago, so we had not returned to catch up with your publications on Zanzibar, but it is also great your natural photography contest, we take the opportunity to invite @sorprendente, to resume his participation. Well friend, just a moment ago we visited your last two publications on great photographs of the beaches of Zanzibar, we enjoyed its crystal clear waters and white sand that is really a tropical paradise. It also reminded us of the Caribbean, because we are Venezuelan and we have the pleasure of having the Caribbean Sea as beautiful as the sea that surrounds the archipelago of Tanzania.

Receive a virtual hug from @parauri and the entire team of Mundo Autismo.

By the way we make you a special invitation to #HiveBlue 2023, so you can enjoy part of the blue party we have for Autism month, which is about to end and you are a very special friend of the house. 😊
