EXPLORE NATURE'S FLORAL BEAUTIES! 💐

in WE ARE MOVINGlast month
A pleasant day to everyone! How's everyone doing? I hope you're all feeling well and staying healthy. Today, I want to share something that brought a smile to my face—a few photos I took of some beautiful flowers and nature.

I took these pictures last week, and the colors immediately drew me in, especially the pink-striped trumpet lily.😍 Out of all the flowers there, this one stood out the most. I had never seen anything like it before, and when I spotted it, I felt a sense of awe. I couldn’t help but grab my phone inside my bag and start snapping away. The flower was so captivating, with its gorgeous pink stripes, that I found myself taking picture after picture, just to capture its beauty from every angle.

What made the scene even more special was the way the green grass seemed to blend so perfectly with the colors of the flowers. It was as if nature had arranged everything just for that moment. These photos were taken at our church while we were there for a cleaning day. I wasn’t expecting to find anything like this, so when I saw that flower, it felt like a little burst of joy. It was a simple but beautiful reminder of the surprises nature has to offer, even in the most ordinary places.

I didn't know what this is called at first, and just earlier, I scanned it's picture and found out that this is a pink striped trumpet lily. According to Google, it's scientific name is Hippeastrum striatum. Learning its name felt like uncovering a hidden secret, and it made me appreciate the flower even more. It’s one thing to see something beautiful, but when you learn its name, it’s like you’ve unlocked a piece of its story. It’s no longer just a pretty flower, but something you can understand and connect with on a deeper level. Knowing its name made me feel like I had a special bond with it, like I had discovered something not everyone knows.

The name Hippeastrum striatum sounds so elegant, almost like it was chosen to match the flower’s delicate nature. It’s amazing how the name seems to reflect the grace and beauty of the lily. Now, every time I look at the photo, I feel a stronger connection to this flower. It’s as if the lily has its own little story, and by learning its name, I’ve become a part of that story. This makes the flower even more special to me, and I can’t help but feel a sense of wonder every time I think about it.

This whole experience has reminded me of how much there is to discover in the world around us, even in the simplest things. Sometimes, we pass by things every day without really noticing them, but when we take a moment to look closer, we find that there’s so much more to see. Learning about this flower has taught me to slow down and pay attention to the details. What seems ordinary at first glance can turn out to be truly extraordinary when we take the time to appreciate it. It’s a small but powerful reminder that the world is full of hidden treasures, just waiting to be discovered.

Next, we have this orange flower called baho baho. It's scientific name according to Google is Tagetes erecta. According to what I've learned, Tagetes erecta, also known as the African marigold or locally as "Baho-Baho" in the Philippines, is a truly fascinating plant. It’s originally from Mexico but has made its way to many parts of the world, including Southeast Asia. This flower is especially known for its large, bright yellow to orange blooms that can really catch your eye.

In Mexican culture, these flowers, called cempasúchil, are very important, particularly during the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) celebrations. They are used to decorate altars and graves to honor loved ones who have passed away. I found it interesting that because of this, they’re sometimes called the "flower of the dead" in various cultures.

But what really surprised me is that this flower isn’t just pretty—it’s also useful in so many ways. The petals are edible and are sometimes used as a garnish in dishes. Plus, their bright color makes them a natural food dye. In traditional medicine, Tagetes erecta has been used to treat everything from digestive issues to skin problems because of its aromatic and healing properties.

In gardening, this flower is popular because it’s tough and can handle different conditions. It also attracts helpful insects, which makes it a great plant to grow alongside vegetables in the garden. All in all, the Tagetes erecta, or Baho-Baho, isn’t just a beautiful flower—it’s a plant with a rich history and lots of practical uses (Wikipedia) (Tropical Plants) (Encyclopedia Britannica).

The pink flower, orange gumamela, and little pink flower were also there at the church, so I included them in my photos. I couldn’t resist capturing their beauty to share with everyone here, showing just how much nature truly amazed me that day. Each flower seemed to have its own unique charm, and I wanted to preserve that.

To make the colors even more vibrant, I used the ***Old Roll ***camera application on my phone. I love how it enhanced the pictures, making them more colorful and adding a nostalgic feel that made the photos seem almost timeless. The app really brought out the emotions I felt when I saw these flowers in person. My phone’s camera usually produces blurry images(🥲), so using this app made a huge difference in capturing the details and beauty of these flowers. It was like seeing the flowers through a new lens, making the moment even more special.

These pictures I captured are just so stunning and satisfying. Staring at them honestly excites me—I don't even know why! 😂 I can’t help but wonder what other surprises nature has in store for me. The trees around here are so vibrant, with their yellow leaves, but they still don’t quite capture the depth of color I saw in person. The cute little white flower also amazed me. It’s a reminder that even the smallest things can shine if you just take the time to notice them.🤗

And let’s not forget about the red, ball-like fruit I came across. It looks so intriguing, but I’ve been told it’s poisonous if eaten.🤔 Even so, they’re so satisfying to look at, especially through this camera. The Old Roll app really brought out the richness in all these colors, making everything look even more alive. Omggg!!!

As I wrap up this little journey through the church garden, I’m left feeling inspired and more connected to the natural world around me. These simple moments, capturing the beauty of flowers, trees, and even red fruits remind me that there’s so much wonder in the everyday. I can’t wait to see what other surprises nature has in store.I, @saixieh , hope these photos bring a bit of that same joy and amazement to you as they did to me. Let’s keep exploring and appreciating the beauty that’s all around us!🌺🥀

The first flower is pretty cool! I think it's my first time seeing them.

I was shocked when I saw that for the first time as well😅💜

I liked the pink Lily Ma'am @saixieh its beauty is rare and beautiful 😊

Thank you for your kind feedback about it maam @diamondinthesky 😊😊

You have captured those flowers beautifully. I didn't know that Cosmos came originally from Mexico until I read your post. I remember when I was a kid, we were always replanting it beside the vegetables and I always hated my task because of it's smell. Haha! Anyway, I think that small red ball-like fruit you mentioned is a fruit of a kind of palm tree here in in PH.

Those informations were quite useful to share it with everyone actually. And I didn't noticed it has a bad smell, haha. About the red balls, I've seen it quite often but it's just that I dont know what it's called. Thank you for information btw🙉
