Hi guys!

For a few weeks I have been posting flowers that I have embroidered because I have a project to make Christmas handkerchiefs for my family, but as a personal goal to make as many flowers as possible in embroidery.

So a few days ago I embroider this sunflower that doesn't turn out so well, but it's a great advance. Any practice is one step further. Although if I'm honest, what I didn't like were the colors I chose. A slightly darker yellow and not using the orange would have left a better embroidery, much more similar to the real flower.

Desde hace unas semanas he estado publicando flores que he bordado porque tengo como proyecto hacer pañuelos de navidad para mi familia, pero como meta personal hacer todas las flores que pueda en bordados.
Así que hace unos días borde este girasol que no me quedo tannnn bien, pero es un gran avance. Cualquier practica es un paso más adelante. Aunque si soy sincera lo que no me gustó fueron los colores que escogí. Un amarillo un poco más oscuro y no usar el naranja hubiera dejado un mejor bordado, mucho más similar a la flor real.

I did this with three different stitches. The first is the stem of the flower with a Stem Stitch, the petals with a slightly messy Satin Stitch because I like that effect better for this flower and the center of the flower with a French Stitch.

I am not going to explain how to do the Stem Stitch because it is always the same and it is explained in several of my posts (which were left here) but the others are. My favorite is the French Point, I know it's tiny and doesn't cover anything but I think it's so cute.

Este lo hice con tres puntadas diferentes. La primera es la del tallo de la flor con una Puntada Tallo, los pétalos con una Puntada Satín un poco desprolija porque me gusta más ese efecto para esta flor y el centro de la flor con una Puntada Frances.
No voy a explicar como hacer la Puntada Tallo porque es la misma siempre y esta explicada en varios de mis posts (que se los dejó acá) pero los demás si. Mi favortio es el Punto Frances, se que es pequeñito y no cubre nada pero me parece tan lindo.

Materials:

• Hoop.
• Threats of colors.
• Blunt tip needle.
• Suitable fabric.
• Pencil.

Materiales:
• Aro.
• Madeja de colores.
• Aguja punta roma.
• Tela adecuada.
• Lapiz.

Loose Satin Stitch

To make the Satin Stitch, it is sewn from side to side progressively. To make petals with this stitch you have to start with the tip and the center of the petal and then embroider to one side and then do the other. For this flower I like to do it not so neat so that the thread is a little loose and looks more like the petals of a sunflower that are velvety.

I made them in two colors, yellow and orange, but a more tan yellow would suit me better.

Punto Satín Suelto
Para hacer el Punto Satín se cose de lado a lado de manera progresiva. Para hacer pétalos con esta puntada hay que empezar con la punta y el centro del pétalo y luego bordar hacia un lado y luego hacer el otro. A mi para esta flor me gusta hacerlo no tan prolijo para que quede el hilo un poco suelto y se vea más como los pétalos de un girasol que son como aterciopelados.
Los hice de dos colores, amarillo y naranja, pero con un amarillo más tostado me quedaría mejor.

French point.

Use French Stitches for the center of the sunflower. I did it in brown. This stitch is made by passing the needle from the bottom up, after passing all the thread you have to turn the thread, in this size 3 turns and then pass the needle down right next to the first stitch. And then make many stitches so that it is bushy.

Punto Francés.
Use Puntadas Francesas para el centro del girasol. Lo hice en color marrón. Esta puntada se hace pasando la aguja de abajo hacia arriba, luego de pasar todo el hilo hay que darle vueltas al hilo, en este tamaño 3 vueltas y luego pasar la aguja hacia abajo justo al lado de la primera puntada. Y luego hacer muchas puntadas para que quede tupidito.
