¡Feliz lunes de Aguja! / Happy Needle Monday!

Bendecido inicio de semana, me complace inmensamente estar en esta ocasión de lunes de costura con ustedes y compartir uno de mis más recientes proyectos. Se trata de un Vestido para Niña, con una tela floral que tiene un estampado encantador.

Blessed start to the week, I am immensely pleased to be with you on this occasion of Sewing Monday and share one of my most recent projects. This is a Girl's Dress, with a floral fabric that has a charming print.

Les confieso que al momento de realizar este vestido y escribir esta publicación hubo una especie de emociones cruzadas dentro de mi. Es que recordé cuando mi hija era pequeña y que hubiera sido muy lindo poder haberle confeccionado algunos vestidos, en ese sentido sentí nostalgia y tristeza. Pero, por el otro lado estuve contenta de satisfacción por "haber desbloqueado otra meta". Es mi primer vestido, sentí que demoré en hacerlo, pero deseaba que los detalles y todo quedará lo mejor posible.

I confess that at the time of making this dress and writing this publication there was a kind of mixed emotions within me. It's just that I remembered when my daughter was little and that it would have been very nice to have been able to make her some dresses, in that sense I felt nostalgia and sadness. But, on the other hand I was happy with satisfaction for "having unlocked another goal." It's my first dress, I felt like I took a while to make it, but I wanted the details and everything to be as good as possible.

Sin embargo, pienso que mientras hay vida hay esperanza de cambiar las cosas. Quizás ya no pueda volver al tiempo en que mi hija era pequeña, pero si podría hacerle actualmente su vestido. La meta de esta semana será la confección de un vestido para mi hija, de seguro se pondrá muy contenta. Pienso que debe ser algo bastante similar a la confección de la versión de niña, es decir, tomar en cuenta los puntos generales de corte y armado.

However, I think that as long as there is life there is hope to change things. Maybe she can't go back to the time when my daughter was little, but she could make her dress today. This week's goal will be to make a dress for my daughter, she will surely be very happy. I think it should be something quite similar to the making of the girl's version, that is, taking into account the general points of cutting and assembly.

Este modelo de vestido me gustó bastante de recrearlo, porque la tela es muy suave y linda, además de que el corte de la falda era diferente. La parte delantera es más alta y la trasera más baja y circular, brindando un toque asimétrico y elegante. En la cintura, un listón doble que ajusta y brinda más realce a dicha zona. Este vestido fue un encargo de una conocida cercana, para su hija menor.

I really liked recreating this dress model, because the fabric is very soft and pretty, plus the cut of the skirt was different. The front part is higher and the rear part is lower and more circular, providing an asymmetrical and elegant touch. At the waist, a double ribbon that adjusts and provides more enhancement to said area. This dress was commissioned by a close acquaintance, for her youngest daughter.

Proceso de Creación / Creation Process

Para iniciar cortamos las partes que necesitamos. Las piezas superiores o del pecho, las he cortado doble cada una para así brindar mejor volumen y armado. Para la parte inferior he cortado un rectángulo a todo lo que va de la tela, he cortado recto y después más adelante realizo el detalle de la falda. Además he cortado un listón de 5 centímetros de ancho a todo lo largo de la tela, que usaré para el voladito inferior de la falda. Otro listón de 12 centímetros para las trabillas y para el listón de detalle en cintura.

To start we cut the parts we need. The upper or chest pieces, I have cut each one double to provide better volume and assembly. For the bottom part I have cut a rectangle from the entire length of the fabric, I have cut it straight and then later I make the detail of the skirt. I have also cut a 5 centimeter wide ribbon along the entire length of the fabric, which I will use for the bottom ruffle of the skirt. Another 12 centimeter ribbon for the belt loops and for the waist detail ribbon.

Para iniciar el armado, tomé las dos piezas del frente y enfrentando los derechos, realicé una costura por todo el contorno. Este paso lo he repetido con las piezas traseras. Al tener ambas listas, pase a unirlas desde los hombros.

To start the assembly, I took the two front pieces and facing right sides, I made a seam all around. I have repeated this step with the back pieces. Once you have both lists, move on to join them from the shoulders.

Después de haber unido las piezas de los hombros desde el superior, procedí a unir los costados.

After I had attached the shoulder pieces from the top, I proceeded to attach the sides.

Cosemos la falda al pecho, realizando pliegues repartidos por el contorno.

We sew the skirt to the chest, making folds distributed around the contour.

Para realizar el corte de la falda, primero realicé la prueba en papel. Simulé con una página blanca la falda, doblé y corté, para después verificar que quedaría como deseaba. Solo allí realicé el corte en la tela.

To cut the skirt, I first did the test on paper. I simulated the skirt with a white page, folded and cut it, and then verified that it would turn out as I wanted. Only there did I make the cut in the fabric.

Después de haber hecho ese corte de detalle en la falda, tomé el listón y por el orillo pasé una costura de zigzag para que se formé las ondas. Seguidamente he cosido el listón a todo el contorno de la falda.

After having made that detail cut on the skirt, I took the ribbon and along the edge I passed a zigzag seam so that the waves were formed. Next I sewed the ribbon to the entire contour of the skirt.

Ahora, pasamos a lo que serían las trabillas o las cositas por donde se insertará el listón de la cintura. Para ello, doblamos y cosemos el listón. Después cortamos en trozos para formar las trabillas según el tamaño que necesitemos. Cosemos las trabillas al vestido, he tomado como punto medio donde esta la unión del pecho con falda. Por último nos resta formar el listón, repetimos el paso de la trabilla, pero sin cortar. Insertamos el listón o cinturón.

Now, we move on to what would be the loops or the little things where the waist ribbon will be inserted. To do this, we fold and sew the ribbon. Then we cut into pieces to form the loops according to the size we need. We sew the belt loops to the dress, I have taken as the midpoint where the chest meets the skirt. Finally we have to form the ribbon, we repeat the step of the loop, but without cutting. We insert the ribbon or belt.

Resultado / Result

El resultado obtenido ha sido muy lindo, me siento bastante satisfecha por lo lindo que han quedado los detalles del corte y voladito. Mi conocida quedó alegre y satisfecha con el vestido, me dijo que había tenido algo de tiempo queriendo uno así para su niña, pero que actualmente los vestidos infantiles cómodos no eran tan comercializados.

The result obtained has been very beautiful, I feel quite satisfied with how beautiful the details of the cut and ruffle turned out. My acquaintance was happy and satisfied with the dress, she told me that she had been wanting one like this for her little girl for some time, but that currently comfortable children's dresses were not so commercialized.
