Hello everyone!!!

I hope you are well, or at least trying to be. I’m fairly well. Lately, I’ve been trying to improve my newly gained crochet skill as much as I can. Almost every week, I try to learn a new style and/or something different. I’ve shared many of the things I’ve made with you before, and I aim to multiply them.

Today — or rather yesterday — I tried to learn something about how to make a bow. It turned out to be much simpler than I thought, and I’d like to show it to you as well.

Since it’s a subject where you can be quite flexible in terms of size adjustment, I felt comfortable, but I decided to make a small one to be a bit more economical and quicker.

The things we’ll need are the classic crochet project tools. My choice was a 2.5 mm hook, yarn in the colour I selected (I chose dark brown, 100% acrylic), a stitch marker, needle and scissors. I realised only after finishing the project that I had chosen a poor colour for the black background. The colour itself is beautiful, but since it isn’t very far from black, it makes it difficult to see.

I made 3 pieces. As they were small, it took about 15 minutes in total. For this little project, I think the timing was good. Let’s start with the first piece.

For the first piece, the first step is to chain 20 stitches. Then finish the piece with 8 rows of single crochet. That’s all there is to it. Boring? Yes. Simple? Also yes. When you have something to listen to in the background, everything goes more smoothly. When I finished, I used a needle to weave in the leftover yarn. As you can see in the last photo, I tried to centre the needle as much as possible, stopped when I was sure, and shortened the yarn.

For the second piece, this time I chained 30 and continued with 6 rows. Once finished, I again used the needle to hide the extra yarn. I should add that in all the pieces, I left extra yarn at the ends, because when it came to assembly, I sewed them together with those extra bits.

The third piece was the small one, this time chaining 6 and making 2 rows, which resulted in a tiny, tiny piece. You can see the size in the photo above. From this point, it took about 10 minutes more, then it was time to assemble.

I decided it made more sense to wait with the needle threaded with yarn using the needle threader, because I needed to hold the bow in a certain way to give it its folds. I’ll start explaining this right away, but I must say, if the pieces had been larger, this process would have been much easier.

I took the first piece I had made, the one with 8 rows, and folded it into four in a zigzag shape, but before that I marked the chain in the centre. The purpose of folding it into four is to give that classic fullness to the bow. Then I secured it with the leftover yarn. You can see the stages a bit better in the photos above.

Then I did the same with the second piece, the 30-chain 6-row one. First, I found the centre, and with the help of the needle, I passed the leftover yarn through the middle by weaving it through the stitches.

After joining the first and second pieces, the next step was to hide the ugliness that had formed in the centre, and it was possible to do this with the third, smaller piece. I positioned it around to wrap the centre and sewed it in place.

That was the bow! Using one of these sizes as a charm to decorate something wouldn’t be difficult at all. Although it isn’t something I usually use, I’m sure it could be something I’d attach to the end of my hair tie when braiding my hair.

After finishing, since I managed to make it well enough, I tried another one just for practice, and this time I used another colour I love, baby blue. I think, perhaps because of the material of the yarn, the blue one turned out very stiff. Maybe if I’d used a 3 or 3.5 mm hook, it wouldn’t have been so stiff. I suppose that’s all from me about this new thing I learned.

Umarım iyisinizdir ya da iyi olmaya çalışıyorsunuzdur. Ben iyi sayılırım. Son zamanlar yeni elde etmeye çalıştığım crochet beceresini elimden geldiğince geliştirmeye çalışıyorum. Hemen hemen her hafta yeni bir stil ve/veya farklı bir şey öğrenmeye çalışıyorum. Daha önce sizlerle yaptığım bir çok işi paylaşmıştım ve amacım bunları çoğaltmak.

Bugün ise, daha doğrusu dün, nasıl kurdele yapacağım konusunda bir şeyler öğrenmeye çalıştım. Düşündüğümden çok daha basitmiş ve bunuda size göstermek istiyorum.

Boyut ayarlaması konusunda oldukça esnek olunabilecek bir konu olduğundan rahatım fakat hem biraz ekonomik olmak hem de hızlı olabilmek için küçük bir tane yapmaya karar verdim.

İşimize yaracak şeyler klasik crochet projesinde kullanılan şeyler. Benim seçimin 2,5 mm'lik bir tığ, seçtiğim renkte bir ip (koyu kahverengi %100 akrilik seçtim), bir beliteç, iğne ve makas. Siyah arka plan için kötü bir renk seçmiş olduğumu projeyi bitirdikten sonra fark ettim. Renk çok güzel fakat siyahtanda çok uzak olmadığı için görmek zorlaşıyor.

3 parça işledim. Bunlar küçük olduğu için toplamda 15 dakika kadar sürdü. Bence bu minik proje için zamanlama güzel. Birinci parçaya başlayalım.

İlk parça için ilk işlem 20 adet zincir çekmek. Ardından da 8 sıra single crochet ile parçayı bitirmek. Bu kadar basit. Sıkıcı mı? Evet. Basit mi? Yine evet. Arka planda dinleyebileceğiniz bir şey olduğunda her şey daha güzel oluyor. İşim bittiğinde fazladan kalan ipi saklayabilmek için iğnenin yardımını aldım. En son fotoğrafta görebileceğiniz gibi iğneyi elimden geldiğince ortalayarak iğneyi geçirmeye çalıştım ve emin olduğum bir yerde durup ipi kısalltım.

İkinci parça için bu sefer 30 zincir ile birlikte 6 sıra devam ettirdim. Bittiğinde aynı şekilde iğne yardımı ile birlikte ekstra ipi gizledim. Eklemeliyim ki bütün parçalarda, bitirdiğim yerlerde ekstra ip bıraktım çünkü birleştirme zamanı geldiğinde bu ekstra ipler ile dikimi yaptım.

Üçüncü parça ise küçük olan, bu sefer 6 zinciri 2 sıra olacak şekilde minik, miniminnacık bir şey ortaya çıktı. Yukarıdaki fotoğraftan boyutları görebilirsiniz. Bu noktadan sonra ki 10 dakika kadar sürdü, sıra birleştirmeye gelmişti.

Aparat yardımı ile ipi geçirdiğim iğne ile beklemenin daha mantıklı olduğuna karar verdim çünkü kurdeleye kıvrımları verebilmek için belli bir şekilde tutmak gerekiyordu. Bunu anlatmaya hemen başlıyorum ama söylemeliyim ki eğer parçalar daha büyük olsaydı bu işlem çok daha kolay olurdu.

İlk yaptığım parçayı, yani 8 sıra işlediğim parçayı, elime alıp zikzak olacak şekilde 4'e katladım ama bundan önce ortada kalan zinciri bularak oraya bir işaret ekledim. 4'e katlama amacımız kurdele kısmının o klasik dolgusunu verebilmek. Devamında ekstradan bıraktığım ip ile sabitledim. Yukarıdaki fotoğraflarda aşamaları biraz daha iyi bir şekilde görebilirsiniz.

Ardından aynısını ikinci parçaya yani 30 zincir 6 sıralı parçaya yaptım. İlk önce ortasını buldum ve iğne yardımı ile fazladan bıraktığım ipi orta kısımdan çıkarabilemek için ipin içinden ilerledim.

Birinci ve ikinci parçayı birleştirdikten sonra yapılması gereken şey orta kısımda oluşan çirkinliği saklamaktı ve bunu da üçüncü olan küçük parça ile yapmak mümkündü. Çevresini saracak şekilde konumlandırıp diktim.

Kurdele bu kadardı! Bu boyutta olan bir tanesini charm gibi bir şeyleri süslemek için kullanmak hiç de zor değil. Genel olarak benim kullandığım bir şey olmasa bile bence saçımı ördüğümde tokamın ucuna takabileceğim bir şey olacağına eminim.

Bitirdikten sonra yeterince iyi bir şekilde yapabildiğim için denemek amaçlı bir tane daha yaptım ve bu sefer diğer sevdiğim bir renkte, bebek mavisinde denedim. Sanırım ipi materyâlinden dolayı, mavi olan çok katı oldu. Belki 3 ya da 3,5 mm'lik tığlarla da yapabilrdim ve bu kadar katı olmazdı. Öğrendiğim yeni bir şeyden sanırım bu kadar.
