Hello everyone
Happy weekend to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing great and preparing for a beautiful Sunday ahead, it's so nice to be here today to share with you one of my recent craft made from pieces of fabric, it's a small purse with side handle made for my friend from the combination of two different colors of fabric.
As requested by my friend recently, she needed a small purse for her personal use and with her description, I knew this will just be perfect for her, I made this with a little different from the ones I've made before, I added a little handle to the side for it to be easier to hold and carry around, I made this with a simple step by step process and the outcome was really nice.
Step by step cutting and sewing process
Using two different fabrics, I cut out a piece of 12 x 8" from one of the fabric and 2 pieces of 12 x 4" from the other fabric.
The two pieces were sewn to the sides of the other piece on the opposite side
It was placed on interfacing to cut out same shape which was later ironed on it before I cut out same shape of lining as well
I placed a matching color zipper on the tip with lining and it was sewn together on both sides and top stitched as well.
It was turned to the wrong side and I marked 2" on the 4 edges
The marked edges were cut out as it was taken to the sewing machine to be sewn together.
I cut out a small piece to make the handle and it was inserted into two of the edges and sewn together
After sewing the edges together, it was turned inside out through the zipper opening and I have this.
This is the final outcome of the purse for my friend and I hope she will like the beautiful outcome with the side handle.
I hope you like the simplicity and design of this purse.
This look beautiful 😍and the tutorial is very easy to follow . Thanks for sharing with us
You have done a neat work
You have a great talent for taking advantage of resources and creating beautiful things. We always want to have this design, since it solves a lot due to its capacity to carry what we need.
