[ENG-ESP] Reusing jeans for a novelty jacket/ Reusando jeans para una novedosa chaqueta

Happy and blessed today I can say that I did it, because a few months ago I started a patchwork project with jeans that were in disuse, I accumulated several and I got a magnificent result.

Feliz y bendecido día hoy puedo decir que lo logré, pues hace algunos meses inicié un proyecto de patchwork con jeans que estaban en desuso, acumulé varios y walá un resultado magnífico.

First I took a cardboard and traced a hexagon and added 1 centimeter of seam allowance, then I cut it, I chose 3 jeans that I didn't use and started to trace on it each one of the jeans, this work requires a lot of patience, at least this design has the three pieces with the same pattern so while cutting and joining with the machine I realized that I would need more hexagons so I took 3 more pants and continued tracing and cutting.

Primero tomé una cartulina y tracé un hexágono y le agregué 1 centímetro de costura, luego lo corte, escogí 3 jeans que no usaba y comencé a trazar en él cada uno de los jeans, este trabajo es de bastante paciencia, por lo menos este diseño tiene las tres piezas con el mismo patrón por eso mientras cortaba y unía con la máquina me di cuenta qué me haría falta más hexágonos así que tome 3 pantalones más y continué trazando y cortando.

The amount of pants will vary depending on the size in this case I made a size L, after having the three pieces assembled and cut I proceeded to join them with the help of the machine and ready we have a visible jacket. The next step is to cut what would be the lining, in this opportunity I chose a print to finish the flow. Then we proceed to sew. Then we cut the sleeves and start assembling and joining with the main piece of hexagons to sew.

La cantidad de pantalones va a varar según la talla en este caso realicé una talla L, luego de tener las tres piezas armadas y cortadas procedí a unirlas con ayuda de la máquina y listo ya tenemos visiblemente una chaqueta. El paso que sigue es cortar lo que sería el forro, en esta oportunidad escogí un estampado para terminarle de dar el flow. Luego procedemos a coser. Luego cortamos las mangas e iniciamos a armar y a juntar con la pieza principal de hexágonos para coser.

Having the project more visible we continue sewing the lining which we will sew by hand for a better finish, for the cuffs and the bottom of the jacket I used Rib fabric which helps it to be a little bit tight. The collar I cut it Maó type and to finish I put the zipper of the jacket that gives it the urban air.

Teniendo más visible el proyecto continuamos juntando el forro el cual coseremos a mano para un mayor acabado, para los puños y la parte de abajo de la chaqueta use tela Rib que ayuda a que sea un poco ajustada. El cuello lo corte tipo Maó y para finalizar le coloque el cierre de chaqueta que termina dándole el aire urbano.

Este proyecto es el segundo que realizo con esta técnica, y es sumamente satisfactorio, estaré realizando muchas piezas tanto como para mujeres como hombres, estas serán con diseño único. Si no sabes qué hacer con los pantalones de tu closet, esta es una buena opción.

This is the second project I have done with this technique, and it is very satisfying, I will be making many pieces for both women and men, these will be with a unique design. If you don't know what to do with the pants in your closet, this is a good option.
