Hola amigos. Feliz inicio de semana. Hoy es un día especial, de nostalgias y de muchos recuerdos ya que mi papá cumplía años los días 15 de abril. Para nosotras era todo un acontecimiento porque mi papá era muy serio y aunque decía que no estaba de acuerdo con fiestas y celebraciones, el día de su cumpleaños todos nosotros corríamos a felicitarlos y eso lo hacia muy feliz. Ariano como yo, mi papá fue un ser estupendo. Lo extraño mucho.

Hello friends. Happy beginning of the week. Today is a special day, a day of nostalgia and many memories because my dad had his birthday on April 15th. For us it was a big event because my dad was very serious and although he said he did not agree with parties and celebrations, on his birthday we all ran to congratulate him and that made him very happy. Ariano like me, my dad was a wonderful person. I miss him very much.

Estuve recordando muchas cosas el fin de semana, ví películas muy bonitas y también realicé varias manualidades, entre ellas estas caritas populares que me encantan. Las hice porque ordenando mis materiales encontré dentro de una bolsa un trozo de tela de fieltro amarilla que casi no uso porque es una tela muy gruesa. En realidad es un retazo de tela que vino deforme, por un lado muy gruesa y por otro más delgada. Entonces tomé la parte más gruesa para hacer estos adornos. Como pueden ver es un proyecto que surgió y realicé sin planificación. Pero el resultado me encantó. Lo que hice fue tomar las herramientas: un cartón para usar de mesa, las tijeras, agujas e hilo y por supuesto la tela. Para dar forma redonda a la figura usé el rollo de cinta adhesiva 😊

I was remembering a lot of things over the weekend, I saw very nice movies and I also made several crafts, among them these little folk faces that I love. I made them because while sorting my materials I found inside a bag a piece of yellow felt fabric that I almost never use because it is a very thick fabric. It is actually a piece of fabric that came deformed, very thick on one side and thinner on the other. So I took the thicker part to make these ornaments. As you can see it's a project that came up and I did it without planning. But I loved the result. What I did was to take the tools: a cardboard to use as a table, the scissors, needles and thread and of course the fabric. To give round shape to the figure I used the roll of masking tape 😊.

Quise hacerlas grandes porque de estas ya he realizado pequeñas antes tejidas, las hice de varios colores y de diferentes expresiones. Fue un reto para mí cortar la tela porque mis tijeras no son de cortar tela. La tela de fieltro es una tela delicada y esta por ser vieja lo es aún más.

I wanted to make them big because I have made small ones before, I made them in various colors and different expressions. It was a challenge for me to cut the fabric because my scissors are not for cutting fabric. Felt fabric is a delicate fabric and this one is even more so because it is old.

Como no tengo cintas ni quise ponerme a tejer 🧶 tomé un trozo de la misma tela para hacer el lacito para colgar, pero me di cuenta que la tela está muy frágil, al estirar las tiritas se partían. De todos modos las hice un poco anchas y las cosí en uno de los círculos, en el que coloqué en la parte de atrás. Estas caritas son para mí, las coloqué sobre un estante de caja cartón improvisado que hice para colocar los estambres 😃

Since I don't have any ribbons and I didn't want to start weaving 🧶 I took a piece of the same fabric to make the bow for hanging, but I realized that the fabric is very fragile, and when I stretched the strips they split. Anyway, I made them a little wide and sewed them on one of the circles, the one I placed on the back. These little faces are for me, I placed them on a makeshift cardboard box shelf I made to place the stamens 😃

Sin dudarlo este fin de semana hubiera ido de viaje a celebrar con mi papá su cumpleaños. A él le hubiera encantado verme haciendo estas cosas, se preocupaba mucho por mi bienestar y a veces se reía de mis inventos.

Without hesitation this weekend I would have gone on a trip to celebrate my dad's birthday. He would have loved to see me doing these things, he was very concerned about my well being and sometimes laughed at my inventions.

Me sentí súper relajada haciendo esta manualidad. Todo lo llevé para mi cama y mientras veía una película turca realicé las tres caritas. Pasé unas horas entretenida, haciendo, viendo y recordando. Casualmente este día ví tres películas y todas tenían como tema principal a la familia y el amor entre padres e hijos. A veces creo que todo no es casualidad, quizá yo necesitaba remover recuerdos y todo se dió para que así fuera. Me sentí muy bien mientras hacia las caritas, todo fluyó con naturalidad. No hubo complicaciones, solo que una tirita se rompió al halarla, pero había suficiente tela para hacer más.

I felt super relaxed making this craft. I took everything to my bed and while watching a Turkish movie I made the three little faces. I spent a few hours entertained, making, watching and remembering. Coincidentally this day I saw three movies and all of them had as main theme the family and the love between parents and children. Sometimes I think that everything is not a coincidence, maybe I needed to stir memories and everything happened to make it so. I felt very good while making the faces, everything flowed naturally. There were no complications, only that a band-aid broke when I pulled it, but there was enough fabric to make more.

Es bueno hacer las manualidades cuando estoy de ánimos. Es algo que me sucede con frecuencia, pienso en hacer algo y si tengo los materiales todo me sale de maravilla. Es como todo en la vida, nada a la fuerza es bueno. Pero si todo lo hacemos con verdaderas ganas sale muy bien y al primer intento. ¿No creen que es así?
Me entristecí un poquito al ver que solo me quedaba de hilo amarillo 💛 unas hebras. Sin embargo me atreví y comencé a coser con ellas. Para mi 😮 sorpresa el hilo me alcanzó al ras. De paso aproveché para organizar la cesta de los hilos y hacer una lista de compras. Realmente casi no coso y se me pasa comprar hilos de todos los colores.

It's good to do the crafts when I'm in the mood. It's something that happens to me often, I think about doing something and if I have the materials everything comes out great. It's like everything in life, nothing by force is good. But if we do everything with real desire, it comes out very well and at the first try. Don't you think so?
I was a little sad to see that I only had a few strands of yellow yarn left 💛. However I took the plunge and started sewing with them. To my 😮 surprise 😮 the thread reached me flush. In passing I took the opportunity to organize the yarn basket and make a shopping list. I don't really sew much and I keep forgetting to buy threads of all colors.

Me encantó hacerlas. Ahora tengo un nuevo adorno en mi espacio de trabajo.

I loved making them. Now I have a new decoration in my workspace.
