Hola amigos. Deseo que estén muy bien. El día de hoy vengo a presentarles un proyecto que planifiqué realizar a principios del mes de febrero. Este proyecto nació motivada por la sugerencia de un amigo virtual quien siempre lee, aprecia y comenta mis creaciones. Es un buen amigo, además de excelente creador de contenido. Ya le he pasado la invitación para que forme parte de esta gran familia, pronto tendrá un usuario y con gusto se los compartiré.

Para empezar hablando con la verdad, justamente el día de la publicación de invitación para el concurso yo había desempolvado un tejido que creí perdido. Resulta que amaneció lloviendo y no pude salir con mi mamá para sus terapias. Ya estaba bien despierta y aproveché para organizar un poco los hilos, es algo que hago con mucha frecuencia porque aunque tengo muy pocos me gusta saber con qué colores y cantidad cuento.

Decidí organizar porque cuando abrí la puerta del escaparate un ovillo se cayó al suelo y el piso estaba húmedo. Saqué todas las cestas (solo tres en realidad) separé los hilos pabilos de los estambres, las telas de fieltro de las pop y allí tapadito estaba el inicio de mi proyecto olvidado. No tomé fotografías porque no soy adivina jajaja. Amigos míos, la otra verdad es que no soy de las tejedoras que acumula proyectos sin terminar; si mal no recuerdo desde el 2016 cuando retomé de lleno el tejido he dejado en el olvido un solo proyecto (me falta muy poco para terminarlo, pero lo seguiré reservando). El que voy a mostrarles mediante el progreso de este concurso lo planifiqué en febrero, ya lo tenía pensado como un proyecto a largo plazo. Me distraje haciendo otras cositas y luego sucedió el accidente de mi mamá y así lo fui dejando sin continuar.

Si pueden apreciar más adelante en la fotografía son dos círculos casi listos para rellenar. El más grande lo rescaté de la cesta y el más pequeño es parte del progreso dentro de esta breve presentación. En total serán tres o cuatro círculos similares que necesitaré para armar toda mi creación.

Estaré usando en esta parte de mi proyecto el hilo pabilo rústico. El mismo que usamos los venezolanos para amarrar las hallacas en Navidad. Este hilo me saca de apuros cuando requiero de un color no blanco ni piel. Esos colores son difíciles de conseguir en pabilo. Estoy segura que en el resultado final pasará inadvertido ese detalle. El resto de los hilos son pabilo de variados colores. El pabilo es un hilo grueso y resistente, elaborado de algodón. Mis hilos son de un grosor medio, los puedo tejer sin ningún problema con la aguja de crochet de 2,5 mm. Sin embargo para tejer el círculo más grande utilicé la aguja de 3,00 mm. Recuerdo que quería usar esta aguja para comparar el tejido con el que realizo con la aguja de 2,5 mm.

El inconveniente que veo para usar el hilo pabilo rústico es que nunca son del mismo grueso. Lo bueno es que los venden en las bodegas, si se me acaba puedo salir a comprarlo cerca de mi casa.

Entonces he decidido retomar este proyecto y así cumplir con el propósito inicial; mostrárselo a mi amigo y sorprender a una amiga que le encantará. Soy fanática de estas figuras así que también serán un regalo para mí. Ya ustedes saben que ellos suelen ser excelentes compañeros en mis horas de descanso y soledad.

Ahora tengo la duda sobre revelar el nombre de mi proyecto o dejarlo en suspenso. ¿Qué opinan? ¿Tienen ustedes una idea de lo que será el resultado final? Hello friends. I wish you all well. Today I come to present you a project that I planned to do at the beginning of February. This project was born motivated by the suggestion of a virtual friend who always reads, appreciates and comments on my creations. He is a good friend, as well as an excellent content creator. To begin with speaking the truth, just the day of the publication of the invitation for the contest I had dusted off a fabric that I thought lost. It turns out that it was raining at dawn and I couldn't go out with my mom for her therapies. I was wide awake and I took the opportunity to organize the yarns, something I do very often because although I have very few I like to know what colors and quantity I have.

I decided to organize because when I opened the window door a ball of yarn fell on the floor and the floor was wet. I took out all the baskets (only three actually) separated the wicks from the stamens, the felt fabrics from the pops and there covered up was the beginning of my forgotten project. I didn't take pictures because I'm not a fortune teller hahaha. My friends, the other truth is that I am not one of those knitters who accumulates unfinished projects; if I remember correctly since 2016 when I took up knitting again I have left only one project in oblivion (I am very close to finish it, but I will continue to reserve it). The one I'm going to show you through the progress of this contest I planned it in February, I already had it planned as a long term project. I got distracted doing other little things and then my mom's accident happened and so I left it without continuing.

If you can see further on in the picture there are two circles almost ready to be filled. The larger one I rescued from the basket and the smaller one is part of the progress in this brief presentation. In total there will be three or four similar circles that I will need to put together my entire creation.

I will be using in this part of my project the rustic pabilo thread. The same one we Venezuelans use to tie the hallacas at Christmas. This thread gets me out of trouble when I need a non-white or non-skin color. Those colors are difficult to get in wick. I am sure that this detail will go unnoticed in the final result. The rest of the threads are wick of various colors. The wick is a thick and resistant thread, made of cotton. My threads are of medium thickness, I can knit them without any problem with a 2.5 mm crochet needle. However, to knit the larger circle I used the 3.00 mm needle. I remember that I wanted to use this needle to compare the knitting with the knitting I do with the 2.5 mm needle.

The drawback I see to using the rustic pabilo thread is that they are never the same thickness. The good thing is that they sell them in bodegas, if I run out I can go out and buy some near my house.

So I decided to resume this project and thus fulfill the initial purpose; show it to my friend and surprise a friend who will love it. I am a fan of these figures so they will also be a gift for me. You already know that they are usually excellent companions in my hours of rest and solitude.
