Crochet 101 : July -August Crochet Pattern Tests

Hello! How are you? I haven't been as active here lately as I used to be, but I am still aliiiveee! Haha I have been very occupied with work stuff and *drumroll * crocheting!

I previously shared with you that I finally got to write and release my own crochet patterns, and guess what? I already released 3 designs in a span of 2 months! Huhu My heart is very happy and grateful. I am currently looking for testers for my 4th written pattern, too! ❤️

Aside from writing my own patterns, I went back to pattern-testing other crafter's designs as well! I became part of 4 pattern tests! 2 were already released, while the other two will be released next month.

It's so funny because in all these 4 pattern tests, I was initially unsure about applying because I wasn't sure whether or not I will have enough time and energy to complete them, as I was in the middle of managing my own tester teams the time the designers looked for testers. But after countless moments of reflecting and contemplating, obviously, I ended up applying to them. Haha I mean, they are such beauties!!!

In this post, I am going to share with you the projects I made for the pattern tests. Wohooo!

Laurel Sundress by woolmyworld

This design was the one that broke my pattern test break. Haha. When I saw woolmyworld's tester call post, I feel inlove with the design! It looks so simple yet chic. When I started working on this, I was honestly intimidated, as it included a graph, which I haven't tried following before! Good thing, it came with written instructions, so I eventually figured out how it works. In the end, I not only ended up with a new beautiful dress, but I also gained a new crochet skill! Yay! BTW, this may be made as a top as well. Hihi

Ocean Shorts by alethea.handmade

If you are following me in my Instagram crochet account, you may have an idea that I very into crocheting shorts/bottoms these days. Haha When I first saw the post about Ocean Shorts, I immediately got curious about its construction. I honestly wasn't going to apply to this pattern test, but it kept on appearing in the IG Stories of crocheters I follow, so in the end, I gave in and applied. I wasn't even expecting that I will be picked, so I was surprised when I was notified that I was! Hehe This shorts is so fast and easy to make! It is sooo comfy to wear, too! Perfect for the beach trips or even lounging at home.

MyAllInOneDress by lisettelannerhag

I have been wanting to make a straight-cut or bodyfit dress for a long time now, but I couldn't picture out how to make it hug my body. So when I saw lisettelannerhag's tester call post for this crochet pattern, I found that as an opportunity to finally be able to make a dress that I have been wanting for so long! I applied to test it, but as usual, I wasn't expecting to be chosen, as this beautiful dress would surely catch the attention of a lot of crocheters. But I made it to the tester team! Yay! Haha MyAllInOneDress may be made as a bralette, top, mini dress, midi dress, or maxi dress! Literally all-in-one! Haha

After the Rain by estudyofem

.

When I saw the post about this top, the first thing that came to mind was, "OMG my students will love this!" I was initially planning on using pastel colors for this to match with the Unicorns' colors, but in the end, I settled with the colorway that's closer to my heart. Haha I enjoyed the process of making this top! I wore this to school during out first in-person classes, and it was so comfy! Yay!

One of the reasons I'm scared of crocheting is because of the amount of patience it requires. And frankly I envy you. You've taken art to another level with wool.
Thank you for sharing 🥰

It does seem intimidating at first. Maybe you could start with small projects! Like scrunchies, watr bottle holder, or a coaster!

Thankyouu

I appreciate the motivation 🥰.
I think I just would.

I am amazed once more by your skill and patience!! the dresses are awesome💕 how many balls of yarn did it take you to finish them?

Hello! Thankyouuuu!

I used cakes, instead of balls of yarn hehe.
The amount vary for each project, but around 1-2 hehe

cakes? uuh never seen that, I guess they must be quite huge then...

Hmmm not so big hahaa but big enough

I love those threads.

Thankyouuuu!

All your patterns are amazing, I love the last one in particular.

You should try the pastel colors next time, I’m sure it would come out really nice too.

Thank you! The first 4 are actually designs by other crocheters. Hehe the last one's mine. 😊
