Hello beautiful people of this lovely community, hope you're all faring well,
I'm so excited to publish a post here, Happy children's day to you all, hope you're all faring well and enjoy the day .
I miss childhood days because by now I'd had been at the stadium having lots of fun, oh how time flies
Okayyy, so today i want to share with you all the steps i used in making this long gown for myself to attend my course mates marriage

So i got this style inspiration from a video on TikTok and saved it because I liked it, and had it in mind to sew it one of these days and luckily for me, my course mate invited us for her marriage and i choosed to use that .
I'll explain the steps i used in making the dress with some photos attached
Firstly, i took myself some measurements that I'll be using for the dress and they were

  • Shoulder measurement
  • Half length measurement
  • Bust measurement
  • Waist measurement
  • Hips measurement
  • Full length measurement
  • Nipple to nipple measurement

And i started by cutting out the half length, i marked my shoulder first and marked my chest line so that i can get to my arm hole measurement which 8, i marked my half length line of which i measured my waist measurement there and then for the neckline, i first marked my normal 3 by 3 inches for the front and then to get the design, from half of the armhole, i came in by 3 inches and from the neck i came down by 5 inches and connected them together to create this design

For the back side, i placed the front on it and added 2 inches for my zipper allowance and the neck line was three by 1 half instead

I then proceeded to cutting the lower part of it, there was nothing unusual here because i marked ny waist measurement, made my hips line 8 inches and then marked my hips measurement on the hips line and the full length too minus the 15inches which was for the half length, i placed it on my lining and cut out same

After all these, I started sewing thereby turning my lining with the cut out cloth so that it will be neat, i proceeded to joining the half lengths to the Lower part of the body, i held my darts and did all that was necessary
Arriving at this point, i picked up the net you see in front and attached it to the dress and for the sleeve, i did a normal long sleeve with a kerchief flare , this is how i achieved the Kerchief

I cut the wrist measurement and attached it to the dress and i was done ,
Since i did a late job, by the time i finished, i was already late so i just wore the dress moved to the event 💙

Thank you so much for stopping by,
I had so much fun at the event
