DID I JUST WASTE MY MONEY ON THIS BOOK?

As I was looking and reading some publications here in Needleworkmonday, I saw @calendulacraft's post about here quilting project. It reminds me of one of my oldest dreams which is to try quilting.

And while we exchange some words about her post, I remembered that I had once bought a book. I thought it was about quilting as I remember that the author had shown bits of fabrics being sewn together to form a beautiful cushion.

So I looked for it and had it taken a picture.

And then I realized that it doesn't have the word " quilt" on the title, so maybe it's a different approach to sewing. 😅

But then as I read the introduction (just now since I skip reading it before and just go directly to the sample projects, 😅), it has the word "quilt". So my guess at first was right. 🤣

Anyway, I purchased it from LOGOS HOPE, a ship that travels around the world with lots of different books that you can purchase. The ship had
docked at one of the piers in Cebu and lasted for I think 3-5 days. Its crew was composed of different races: American, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, and a lot more. I don't remember if there was a Filipino crew on that ship. 😅✌️

I and my sister Jen like a place surrounded by books. We most likely hang out in every bookstore in Cebu for hours scanning and even reading those books. 😅 So when we heard about this ship selling books, we were intrigued and decided to come. They were also selling some pastries that we haven't tried because we were so focused on their books.

And when I saw this book, scanned and read some pages of it, it caught my interest, and decided to buy this one. It cost P300.00 pesos ($5.43). My sister had also bought a recipe book which I also liked but never tried following those recipes until now. 😅

I covered the book with a plastic cover to protect it. During that time I was still working in the hospital and got hooked on crochet so I never had the chance to try doing some of the projects that the book had in it.

Time flies so fast that after 11 years of purchasing this book, it was opened again.😅

As I was scanning again the great projects inside the book, I am still in great awe and planned to give it a try since my sewing machine is now fixed.

This one looks awesome and wanted to do it first. It has intricate details but the book will guide me. But I still have to look for the right materials and the colors too.

This one had caught my attention too. It would be great on my pillows, I think.

And the book also says you can add lavender to the stuff and smell it every time you use it. I think that would bring a nice dream, isn't it?

So for now, I'll try to check the materials first, and maybe next time be able to share what I can do about it.

If I will be successful on following one of the projects on that book, then my money wouldn't be wasted. 😜

a do it yourself book is not a waste! hahaha especially when you make use of it na, hahaha mababawi din yang 300 mo ate 😄

Magdilang-anghel ka sana Jude. 🥰 At naway sumanib sa akin ang sipag rin. 😅

hahaha laban lang ate 😄

Aah it's always great to look through the pages and choose what inspires you most!! Definitely not a waste (even though it takes ages sometimes to actually read/use a book)
...a book ship, that's some awesome concept. Never heard or seen such a think, but I imagine it must be nice to look through books on a boat😊 Was it only coming by once or every now and again?

What I remember was that the ship didn't usually visit the Philippines specifically in Cebu. But that time, they had landed on several islands here in the Philippines. After that, I haven't heard from that ship again visited here. It was a nice experience though.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by. 🥰☺️

Money spent on books is never a waste. I love being surrounded by books too. Tambay ng booksale here. Haha. Yung amoy pa lang ng old and new books solb na solb na ako eh. Hahaha.

Abangan ko yang mga projects mo.

Nasayangan lang siguro ako sa haba ng time na diko sya nagamit. But hoping soon magagamit ko rin mga samples dun. Hanap lang akong mga scrap ni mama. 🤣😅

This book looks very fun & inspiring and a little intimidating too! Maybe starting out with a simple design in very fun colors and then work up to the more complex quilts. Best of luck and thanks for the mention!

I haven't done any quilts before and what I just saw on the book seems easy. But I know that just seeing it was way different when you started doing it. 😅 So yeah, I would try those simple designs first. Thank you for your comment @calendulacraft. And God bless you. 🥰

Glad you didn't get the wrong book haha, even if it wasn't about quilt, I'm sure there would be still be something you could make of it.
