NEEDLEWORKMONDAY: EXPERIMENTING AGAIN

in NeedleWorkMonday4 years ago

Hello everybody,

Last Saturday night I started packing, we are moving again to another City. My first to gather were my stash of course, ahehehe, I got this Yarn first attitude! Oh, oh...I realized as the years went by I formed a mountain of junks to hubby's eyes. I just tell him to close his eyes, hahaha!

Hmm, not easy to pack things agaib and again, I got tired. While I was sitting down, I was thinking what will I make with the left over, frogged, topsy turvy cotton thread. Then, boom! Got an idea!
Reviewed my cellphone gallery and looked for motifs, found it. Grabed the crochet steel hook and the cottons, after 3 attempts of copying which I failed, a beautiful 4 petal flower was born, my version. Combining the thin 3 ply twisted mercerized cotton and the thick 4 ply indophil acrylic using the same imia brand steel hook no. 2 or some call it "HAMAK" na hook (cheapest hook) in the Philippines.

Then, here's the first line of squares formed by joining as I go.
For my breast upper part.

Showing you the before they were a squares...

See! But, with my experienced and with my patience, I turned them into a crochetiful item.

Here's the motif inspiration that I copied which showed up in my fb feed. When the motif is unique and colorful I save it right away.

The materials I use some scraps of cotton mercerized and the edging black colorway is soft indophil 4 ply acrylic not twisted which is difficult to crochet in my experienced, you must always pull tight the 4 ply of yarn and use the right hook bigger size.

Just until here with my soon new sleeveless top, no title yet, am still searching for the name of a 4 petal tiny weeny flower, if ever you know please comment the name.

Last week, my new guitar made of jackfruit was delivered. Thankful much because I now have my own guitar, I will not borrow anymore. I practiced for just an hour every night before I sleep, whoa my tip fingers was painful because I got hold of a guitar was 3 yrs ago, so, must practice the chords again in transferring my fingers to every chords. Then, last night, I tried making a finger tip protector, just a try what will be the sound.

Well, I don't know about the finger protector...hmm....I was learning guitar 8 years ago and I remember I had pain in my fingers....but after some weeks...I had recovered ;) As for the alternative granny squares, you can do anything with crochet squares :) Nice job!!

Yes, true! Granny many possibilities...

A guitar "thimble"--how clever!

Oh I love this!!!! I started to learn guitar some years ago and then I stopped playing during my fathers illness... I was unable to play (I have in general still problems to hear music) because I got so sad from the music.
But I honestly yesterday started to play again. My fingertips are also red :-DDD and I lost so much skill.
Congratulations to your own guitar (if you are ever up to it, I would loooove a photo of her) and wow, again moving, I feel with you that is very exhausting.
Your crochet design is as always amazing, especially with the black as a border 😍

Thanks much @neumannsalva for dropping by and appreciate the granny with black border. Yeah, our finger tips really do hurt during playing the guitar, but really nice feeling to strum the guitar even though my voice is not good.
