Blessed Needlepoint Monday to all of you. It is a pleasure and an honor to be with you today sharing with you on our needle Monday a fun bookmark, one more for Profe. Erika. This time she asked me for a little pig and to turn this cute little animal into a sweetheart, we made her a cute little hat that looks fabulous on her. As I mentioned, the teacher is implementing a book club, and she shared with me this cute picture with some of the books they are reading in class.

Está vez me pidió un cerdito y para convertir en un galán a este tierno animalito, le hicimos un coqueto sombrerito que le sienta fabuloso. Como les había mencionado, la Profesora está implementando un club de lectura, y me compartió esta linda foto con algunos de los libros que están leyendo en clases.

To make this piggy we need to make a basic circumference, but with the pig's nose. So we start with 6 low stitches over a magic ring and then increase to 12 stitches by making an increase in each stitch. We change the pink yarn for a skin color. The next row is 12 stitches but we pass the needle only through the back strand that makes up the base chain. When the round is completed, we continue in the usual way and knit three rows. In the next row we increase to 18 single crochet stitches and then six increases per row until we reach 30 single crochet stitches. We make 7 rows and then the decreases.

Para hacer este cerdito necesitamos realizar una circunferencia básica, pero con la nariz del cerdo. Entonces empezamos con 6 puntos bajos sobre un anillo mágico y luego aumentamos a 12 puntos haciendo un aumento en cada punto. Cambiamos el hilo color rosa por un color piel. La siguiente vuelta es de 12 puntos pero pasamos la aguja solo por la hebra de atrás que compone la cadena base. Al completar la vuelta seguimos avanzando de la forma habitual y realizamos tres vueltas. En la siguiente vuelta aumentamos a 18 puntos bajos y luego seis aumentos por vuelta hasta llegar a 30 puntos bajos. Realizamos 7 vueltas y luego las disminuciones.

We reach the point where we have to fill in. We close the fabric taking both sides of the opening and making single crochets at the same time that we close. We try to knit four single crochet stitches in that seam allowance. From then on we knit single and double single crochet to form the ribbon of the bookmark.

Llegamos al punto donde hemos de rellenar. Cerramos el tejido tomando ambos lados de la abertura y realizando puntos bajos al mismo tiempo que cerramos. Procuramos realizar cuatro puntos bajos en ese espacio de costura. De allí en adelante tejemos puntos bajos de ida y vuelta para formar la cinta del marcalibros.

Then we make the ears. We start with 5 single crochets in a magic ring, then five stitches without increases, in the third row we increase to 10 single crochets and then to 15 single crochets. We make an additional round without increases and then decreases to have 10 stitches available. We close with a stitch at the base and we are left with a nice shape of pointed ears. We make the legs and the tail and put everything in its place.

A parte realizamos las orejas. Estás las comenzamos con 5 puntos puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, luego cinco puntos sin aumentos, en la tercera vuelta aumentamos a 10 puntos bajos y luego a 15 puntos bajos. Realizamos una vuelta adicional sin aumentos y seguidamente disminuciones para tener 10 puntos disponibles. Cerramos con una puntada en la base y nos queda con una bonita forma de orejas puntiagudas.
