Hello!
So, I started my first embroidery project of this year with a lot of hope transforming this beautiful top prettier! I had bought all the embroidery items necessary to get started for work this year and with that excitement of unpacking new things, I started working on the top.
At first it felt promising to just wing it and perfect it on the go. However, things took a turn very soon and then went out of hand.
To start with, my plan was to do a tight knit french knot cluster of different colours alternatively in the neckline and at the middle. Along with that, i also had enough cut beads and pearls to make it interesting.
I felt the pain when I started this project itself since it was diffeicult to keep an already stitched garment inside the embroidery hoop. So, I started using the small hoop partially keeping the neckline. The second strike down was the silk saltin thread. I've usually used the cotton embroidery thread, which is easy to work with, for my previous trials and tests. But, I came to know from the experts that the satin thread gives a better finishing and I decided to go with that advice.
Let me tell you, working with satin thread is painful! From cutting the strands to keeping all of them together while stitching is such a messy job. At one time, I felt like crying when one of the thread broke in the middle. You see, I need to completely change the threads and undo all the knots.
Undoing or removing french know it a pretty difficult task. Since the knot forms over the cloth, each one of them needs to be removed individually. After hours of trying with the satin threads, I decided to get new pink threads. I also tried with the embroidery thread. The cotton embroidery thread didn't give the shiny finishing of satin thread. However, working with satin threads didn't get easier either.
Anyway, I got more supplies today along with the pink satin threads and beads. I tried to make a thin layer of border with those pink beads but they became wobbly after a point. At last, I accepted the failure and decided to just remove everything and start again.
Well, I'm not starting this one right away but I'm definitely trying again! You remeber the purple top I shared yesterday? I did that because of the frustration from this top getting messy and I'm so happy how it turned out. In fact, I even wore it to the movies yesterday!
So, this small creative flop is just part of it. I'll try again and I'm pretty sure it'll come around well! For now, Cheers to the first failure of the year and to the many good things to come!
Bye!
