NEEDLEWORKMONDAY-Un pequeño arreglo.[A small arrangement.]

El año pasado hice una camisa para la facultad, era un trabajo final para una de mis materias más importantes pero los botones eran de una calidad dudosa, no sé si es por el botón o mi forma de colocarlo, pero a la hora de querer desabrocharlos parecía que se iba a romper todo y con uno de los botones eso fue lo que sucedió y como quería que la camisa se use por que la tela salió un poco cara me decidí a cambiarlos.

Last year I made a shirt for college, it was a final project for one of my most important subjects but the buttons were of dubious quality, I don't know if it was because of the button or my way of placing it, but when I wanted to unbutton them it seemed like everything was going to break and with one of the buttons that was what happened and as I wanted the shirt to be used because the fabric was a bit expensive I decided to change them.

Tuve que descoser ambas carteras para sacar los botones porque estaban puestos por dentro de esta, creo que ese fue mi error a la hora de colocarlos, pero ahora solo los tenía que sacar, quizás si usaba entretela podrían haber estado bien, pero no conseguí en su momento por eso los puse como estaba.

I had to unstitch both wallets to remove the buttons because they were placed inside this one. I think that was my mistake when placing them, but now I just had to take them out. Maybe if I used interfacing they could have been fine, but I couldn't get any at the time, that's why I put them as they were.

Con mis pinzas de bisutería estiré la parte de adentro para poder ir quitando los botones, me da mucha pena tener que sacarlos, pero hace bastantes meses que esta camisa no se puede usar y fue mucho esfuerzo a la hora de hacerlo.

With my jewelry pliers, I stretched the inside so I could remove the buttons. I'm really sad about having to take them out, but this shirt hasn't been wearable for quite a few months, and it took a lot of effort to do it.

Una vez listo esto y con todos los botones quitados lo que hice fue seleccionar mis botones, estos son azules y pequeños, son reciclados de prendas de trabajo que eran camisas de mis hermanos, esas camisas estaban viejas y mi mamá se encarga siempre de juntármelos y dármelos para que use en algo, tengo bastantes prendas donde use estos botones porque además tengo muchos, pero antes de poner los botones y hacer los ojales tuve que volver a coser las carteras.

Once this was ready and with all the buttons removed, what I did was select my buttons. These are blue and small. They were recycled from work clothes that were my brothers' shirts. Those shirts were old, and my mom always makes sure to gather them for me and give them to me to use on something. I have quite a few clothes where I use these buttons because I also have a lot of them ,but before I could put the buttons on and make the buttonholes, I had to re-sew the wallets.

Hice el ojal con la máquina, la verdad es que siempre que tengo que hacer ojales me da un poco de miedo porque si salen mal quedan muy feos, pero estos estaban bien marcados y todos quedaron donde debían quedar, mientras más practique estas cosas mejor van a ir saliendo.

I made the buttonhole with the machine. The truth is that whenever I have to make buttonholes I get a little scared because if they turn out badly they look really ugly, but these were well marked and they all ended up where they should be. The more I practice these things, the better they will turn out.

Hay algo en los ojales que nunca me termina de quedar del todo perfecto, creo que es porque en máquinas industriales se hacen muy diferentes a como los hace mi maquina casera por eso queda tan diferente, de igual manera quedaron bastante bien.

There's something about buttonholes that never quite turns out perfectly for me. I think it's because they're made very differently on industrial machines than on my homemade machine, which is why they turn out so different. They still turned out pretty good.

Los botones los cosí también con el pie de botones, la máquina los deja muy bien fijados así que ya no coso más mis botones a mano, por que de verdad si la máquina lo hace mejor que yo pues eso es lo que queremos, que sea duradero, además de que es mucho más rápido también.

I also sewed the buttons with the button foot. The machine secures them very well, so I no longer sew my buttons by hand. Honestly, if the machine does it better than me, that's what we want: for it to last, and it's also much faster.

Hacer este arreglo hace que ahora la camisa se pueda utilizar al 100%, como no es de mi talle esta va a quedar para mi hermana también, ella me la había pedido hace mucho, pero tarde bastante en hacer el arreglo, además ya se terminaron mis vacaciones de la facultad y empiezo a cursar, así que voy a poder coser muy pocas ya que sigo haciendo proyecto de indumentaria, pero seguro se vengan trabajos prácticos muy interesantes y minicolecciones con prendas nuevas ya que decidí hacer una catedra que se dice que es mucho más difícil pero los trabajos se ven super lindos e interesantes, así que será cuestión de arriesgarse en esto y ver como sale todo.

Making this arrangement makes it so that the shirt can now be used 100%, since it is not my size this one will fit my sister too, she had asked me for it a long time ago, but it took me a long time to make the arrangement, also my college vacations are over and I have to start classes, so I will be able to sew very few since I am still doing clothing projects, but I am sure there will be very interesting practical projects and mini collections with new garments since I decided to do a lecture that is said to be much more difficult but the works look super cute and interesting, so it will be a matter of taking a risk in this and seeing how everything turns out.
