Hacer manualidades me lleva algo de tiempo, más para pensar en lo que quiero hacer que el acto de proceder a la elaboración. Teniendo clara la idea me pongo ansiosa y deseo terminarlo pronto.
Making crafts takes me some time, more to think about what I want to do than the act of proceeding to the elaboration. Having the idea clear I get anxious and want to finish it soon.
Generalmente, cuando trabajo manualidades pienso en algo útil o decorativo para mi hogar, motivo por el cual voy a hacer un cuadro cuyo proyecto haré en dos partes. Este cuadro resulta especial porque primera vez que experimento con el uso de la técnica de repujado para ello hice unas mariposas.
Generally, when I do crafts I think of something useful or decorative for my home, which is why I am going to make a painting whose project I will do in two parts. This painting is special because it is the first time that I experiment with the use of the embossing technique for it I made some butterflies.
En esta publicación les muestro unas mariposas hechas con la técnica de repujado en aluminio reciclado y una mariposa con cartón de caja.
In this publication I show you some butterflies made with the embossing technique in recycled aluminum and a butterfly with cardboard box.
Mariposas decorativas con material de desecho / Decorative butterflies with scrap material

-Pega
-Pistola de silicón
-Silicón líquido y barra

-Pintura al frio color dorado
-Pinturas vitral color marrón, dorado, azul y amarillo
-Láminas de aluminio del empaque de latas de margarina
-Cartón delgado
-Escarcha o diamantina

-Scissors
-Glue
-Silicone gun
-Liquid silicone and stick

-Gold colored cold paint
Brown, gold, blue and yellow stained glass paints
-Aluminum foil from margarine can packaging
-Thin cardboard
-Frosting or diamantine
Procedimiento Mariposas con técnica de repujado en aluminio
- Diseñar el molde de las mariposas y transferir el diseño a la pieza de aluminio.
Procedure Butterflies with aluminum embossing technique
- Design the mold of the butterflies and transfer the design to the aluminum piece.
- Repasar las líneas por el reverso de la figura.
- Go over the lines on the back of the figure.
- Voltear y aplanar el fondo de las alas para realzar los bordes en una mariposa. En la otra conservé la textura.
- Flip and flatten the bottom of the wings to enhance the edges on one butterfly. on the other one i kept the texture.
- Hacer el cuerpo con silicón caliente.
- Make the body with hot silicone.
- Pintar el cuerpo con vitral marrón. Secar.
- Paint the body with brown stained glass. Dry.
- Pintar las alas de una mariposa con vitral azul y la otra mariposa con vitral amarillo. Secar.
- Paint the wings of one butterfly with blue stained glass and the other butterfly with yellow stained glass. Dry.
- Recortar las mariposas.
- Cut out the butterflies.
Procedimiento de Mariposa de cartón delgado
- Dibujar la mariposa y transferir al cartón.
Thin Cardboard Butterfly Procedure
- Draw the butterfly and transfer to cardboard.
- Pasar silicón caliente por todo el borde de la mariposa haciendo una línea curva por dentro del ala y unas líneas rectas. Esperar a que seque.
- Run hot silicone all around the edge of the butterfly making a curved line on the inside of the wing and some straight lines. Wait for it to dry.
- Aparte sobre una superficie plástica hacer el cuerpo de la mariposa con silicón caliente y colocar las antenas con alambre de bisutería. Al secar, pegar con silicón frío sobre la mariposa.
- On a plastic surface, make the body of the butterfly with hot silicone and place the antennas with bijouterie wire. When dry, glue with cold silicone on the butterfly.
- Pintar toda la superficie de color dorado con pintura acrílica.
- Paint the whole surface in gold color with acrylic paint.
- Colocar pega en los dos bordes para ponerle escarcha dorada. Secar. Decorar con las piedras violetas.
- Put glue on the two edges to put gold frosting. Dry. Decorate with the purple stones.
Incidencias
La experiencia fue un poco estresante porque en el caso del repujado tuve algunos inconvenientes. En principio estaba usando un lapicero y rompí un poco la lámina de aluminio. Entonces buscando un marcador encontré un estuche con herramientas especiales para esa técnica, que me regaló una de mis hermanas hace algún tiempo.
Incidents
The experience was a bit stressful because in the case of the embossing I had some inconveniences. At first I was using a pencil and I broke the aluminum foil a bit. Then looking for a marker I found a case with special tools for that technique, which one of my sisters gave me some time ago.
Tuve que ver varios videos para principiantes sobre la técnica de repujado y recordar algunos tips que una amiga manualista me habia dado hace tiempo atrás. Hice varios intentos para realzar la superficie de las mariposas pero no me agradaba cómo quedaban hasta que encontré la forma ideal.
Lo bueno de esta técnica es que es generosa y se puede rehacer el diseño de fondo utilizando la herramienta adecuada por supuesto.
I had to watch several videos for beginners about the embossing technique and remember some tips that a handmade friend of mine had given me some time ago. I made several attempts to enhance the surface of the butterflies but I didn't like the way they looked until I found the ideal shape.
The good thing about this technique is that it is generous and you can redo the background design using the right tool of course.
Después de solucionar ese percance, apareció otro. Quise dar la tonalidad dorada quemando la superficie de las mariposas pero tampoco me gustó y por eso decidí pintarlas con pinturas vitral. Además de que la pistola no ayudó mucho y por eso el cuerpo se ve como distorsionado o en capas.
En ocasiones experimentar no es fácil pero lo más importante es el aprendizaje que marca la pauta a la experiencia.
After solving that mishap, another one appeared. I wanted to give the golden hue by burning the surface of the butterflies but I didn't like it either and so I decided to paint them with stained glass paints. Besides the spray gun didn't help much and that's why the body looks like distorted or layered.
Sometimes experimenting is not easy but the most important thing is the learning that sets the tone for the experience.
