Greetings friends. As you know, if you follow my blog, I have been keeping a Pokémon collection that is growing week by week. So far I haven't made many evolutions, I have concentrated only on the first stages of each Pokémon.

I'm only going to do the first generation ones, so to continue with the collection I present to you the great Shellder. This Pokémon in combination with another one, which I will also do later, allows you to create a new evolved Pokémon, but that's a topic for another day.

Saludos amigos. Cómo saben, si siguen mi blog, he estado llevando una colección de Pokémon que va creciendo semana a semana. Hasta ahora no he hecho muchas evoluciones, me he concentrado solo en las primeras etapas de cada Pokémon.

Solo voy a hacer los de primera generación, así que para continuar con la colección les presento al gran Shellder. Este Pokémon en combinación con otro, que también haré más adelante, permite crear un nuevo Pokémon evolucionado, pero ese es tema para otro día.

Step by step

Like all the other figurines in the collection, I made this piece with plasticine in its entirety. I only used some wire to hold some pieces together.

As tools I used a cutter, my knitting needle and some wooden sticks.

Paso a paso

Como todas las demás figuritas de la colección, hice esta pieza con plastilina en su totalidad. Solo usé un poco de alambre para mantener unidas algunas piezas.

Como herramientas usé un cutter, mi aguja de tejer y algunos palillos de madera.

The first thing I did for this character was the lower part of the shell, that is, the one that goes against the ground.

It's like a seashell, so this was the initial shape I made for this part of the character.

Lo primero que hice para este personaje fue la parte inferior del caparazón, es decir, la que va contra el suelo.

Es como una concha marina, así que esta fue la forma inicial que hice para esta parte del personaje.

Examining Shellder's shape, I realized that it has like two chunks coming out in front of this bottom shell, so to give it this shape when joining all the pieces together, I molded the shell into a shape similar to a kitten.

Examinando la forma de Shellder, me di cuenta que tiene como dos cachos que salen al frente de esta concha inferior, así que para darle esta forma al unir todas las piezas, la concha la moldeé con una forma similar a la de un gatito.

For Shellder's inner body I only made a black sphere, which I placed at the end of the shell and the sides of the shell I put together around the black sphere.

I also attached the tongue, using a small piece of wire to attach it to the body of the character. It is a common tongue, so I made it pink, of a size that will fit the Shellder's body.

Para el cuerpo interno de Shellder solo hice una esfera negra, la cula coloqué en la parte final de la concha y los laterales de la concha los junté alrededor de la esfera de color negro.

También le coloqué la lengua, usando un pequeño trozo de alambre para fijarlas en el cuerpo del personaje. Es una lengua común, así que la hice de color rosada, de un tamaño que se adecuará al cuerpo del Shellder.

Next was to make the upper shell, which is shaped like a thick fingernail, to give you an idea of the initial shape.

This shell is the same size as the lower shell, just a more flattened shape.

Lo siguiente fue hacer la concha superior, la cuál es de una forma parecida a la de una uña gruesa, para que tengan una idea de la forma inicial.

Esta concha es del mismo tamaño que la concha inferior, solo que de una forma más aplanada.

At the top there are also some lines. To make them neat, I made a long line in the center, dividing the shape in two; then I divided the other two halves making another two lines.

If you look at the image below, I also glued the two little eyes he has, these have a separation almost the same size of the tongue, without completely white so I just made two small plasticine spheres and glued them in place, then I made two tiny dots and glued them in the center of each eye.

En la parte superior también hay unas líneas. Para aque fuesen prolijas, hice una larga línea en el centro, dividiendo la forma en dos; luego dividí las otras dos mitades haciendo otras dos líneas.

Si se fijan en la imagen de abajo, también le pegué los dos ojitos que tiene, estos tienen una separación casi del mismo tamaño de la lengua, sin completamente blancos así que solo hice dos pequeñas esferas de plastilina y las pegué en su sitio, luego hice dos puntos minúsculos y los pegué en el centro de cada ojo.

The last thing was to place two smaller shells similar to the lower and upper ones I did before, only these go on the back.

I also made four little horns (or something similar) that he has on his shell; two on the upper one and two more on the lower one.

To give you an idea of the size of this Shellder, see in the picture below the little Omanyte next to him.

Lo último fue colocar dos conchas más pequeñas similares a la inferior y superior que hice antes, solo que estas van en la parte trasera.

También hice cuatro cuernitos (o algo similar) que tiene en su coraza; dos en la superior y dos más en la inferior.

Para que se hagan una idea del tamaño de este Shellder, vean en la imagen de abajo al pequeño Omanyte a su lado.
