What a person doesn't do when he is woken from sleep at night!

Restless legs

Let me explain why I get woken up at night by my restless legs. Then you simply cannot lie down, you have to move, now I have new medication, which still has to be properly “adjusted” and that takes time, time that I would prefer is not needed. But unfortunately it is what it is. And believe me, that just sucks, because for me my sleep is holy.

First I would get angry

Anyway, it is what it is, and so you start doing weird things at night because your leg is a pain. Of course, you first get angry at your own body, because well, it doesn't do what you would like. And then you would say, you have gotten used to that by now, well no! Chronic pain is something that you can get used to, but not the urge to move because of that odd itch in your legs that leaves you like a pestle in your bed. Waking you up and not being able to sleep.

Since it is there, and I can't change it;

GET CREATIVE

So then you just come up with things you can do, such as making backgrounds for your cards or scraps.

this background is made with pastels, just random colours and scratched them on to the paper, than put ricepaper with the help of modpodge on to the paper and sealed it with clear gesso

this background is also made with pastels, and a little bit of spray, sealed with clear gesso again, the flowers are stamped on aquarelpaper, coloured with pencils, clipped and pasted on paper with Dutch Dubadoo glue

background is also made with the pastels, than i found my tapes, and put them on paper, clipped again the flowers but now i l left some background.

Or like recently, painting a piece of daimond painting ...... not always an ideal solution, because I have my daimond painting downstairs, now climbing stairs is a great way to get the annoying itch out of the legs, but then Gentle wants to go back to outside.

Folding the laundry

Or you are going to fold the laundry, sometimes handy. I don't have to do that during the day anymore. But well, to do it at night, while you are actually almost asleep is not always a great solution. Anyway, it is what I did last night.

Waiting for the new medication to kick in

Hopefully the new medication will do its job quickly so that at least I can sleep through the night again until the alarm clock calls me at 6 in the morning, at 6 am I hear you say? Yes, my partner still works for 3.5 days a week, and he would like to be at his job 7 o'clock so that he can chat with his colleagues at work. Enjoy a cup of tea before he has to get started at 7:45am. So that's why my alarm clock calls me at 6am, because I just get up at the same time, I can also start the day quietly and go for a nice walk with Gentle.

Fingers crossed

Please keep your fingers crossed for me that my medication will do the job well soon?

Thank you in advance and I hope to be more active in here and see you all soon, but hopefully with activity and creativity during daytime 😁

I had this when I was pregnant and it's the most frustrating thing ever 😩 Would take me a 2-3 hours to fall asleep. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Fingers crossed the medication kicks in soon 🤞

During the day time it is working, but at the night times it's seems to be more difficult ........ but i have good hope that it will come again so that i can take a good sleep, because of my chronic pain, i regain at night time my energy levels and the strengh to deal with that.
