Ring the Gong !! A creative approach to installing a Doorbell for your Home

Here in the pampa, there ain't such thing as a doorbell it seems, but AEK broke the ice and came up with the rad idea to use his Gong as one.

The Gong is a powerful "instrument". It's more like a round tuning fork.

Apparently people with mental instability in the likes of schizophrenia etc can go mad with a gong, because the sound and vibration is so penetrating, it really rips apart the ground you are convinced to be standing on. The sound makes me feel like I am thrown off into the cosmos; a dark tenebrous loud place that has no space for bullshit or inconsistency. A place of seemingly sonic chaos that in truth is a deep voice of wisdom. A hum that interpells all that is not true and penetrates it with a redressing chord.

It's an instant self-exploration in the sound of seeming annihilation.

Usually it's used for meditative sound journeys or ceremonial soundbaths and the likes, but putting it up as the doorbell of the property just felt like bridging the mystical with the mundane; everybody's allowed to meet and be blessed by the gong with its vibrational cleansing shower.

I was clearing off some of the rampant vines, when Amore walked up to me with a rough idea of how to install the gong finally!

He first explained some steps for the rough structure he had in mind, and me usually being ultra visually centered almost told him to draw a sketch for me to better see what he has in mind.

Somehow I didn't respond to that nudge and just focused on the outline in his idea and said: "so we are doing this now?" As I felt the creative wave he was already on!

I just went with him to the gate and saw him bringing two poles of same size he found in his clearing of the stables.

-We are going to use this as support columns.

-Okay.

We stuck them into the ground at the distance that fit with "the roof"

The roof is a half tabletop that I thought was unusable until Amore saw its new purpose in it as the rooftop protecting the sacred gong from rain.

Then he stabilized the two poles with a squaring piece that bridges them both.

then, we stuck the roof on top of the poles and he hit some nails thru it into the two poles and a third one that we put on the other side of the fence.

By this point we were full in with intuitive building and creating solutions as we go, on this side especially securing the frame so that the physics are well balanced.

We ended up adding a few other pieces of wood to make the structure more solid, and switched to screws as the nails broke too much into the wood panels.

We made the installation with pieces of wood we found on the property, they were all lying around, even the screws were long and shiny they made it all stick real well together.

To add the gong, I intuitively wrapped the string around the nail and knotted it, @ravenking13 made this system for the stick to hang next to the gong.

From now on, every visitor is invited to ring the gong, don't be shy, it'll do you good to bathe in its sound. It's a true therapy these deep ancestral vibrations.
