Hola comunidad ! Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a la exposición "Un mal chiste a Niels Bohr", en la Galería Galiano, inaugurada el pasado viernes 22 de marzo por el Fondo Cubano de Bienes Culturales (FCBC).
La Expo reúne obras de 21 jóvenes artistas algunos con una carrera más consolidada en el circuito, que deconstruyen, muestran y superponen diversas nociones de realidad, según los imaginarios sociales, la experiencia individual o percepciones subjetivas del entorno. La realidad inmediata, casi siempre ubicada en La Habana, que se muestra aquí desde una visión caleidoscópica y mutable.
Hello community ! Today I have the pleasure to invite you to the exhibition "A bad joke to Niels Bohr", at the Galiano Gallery, inaugurated last Friday March 22nd by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC).
The Expo brings together works by 21 young artists, some of them with a more consolidated career in the circuit, who deconstruct, show and superimpose diverse notions of reality, according to social imaginaries, individual experience or subjective perceptions of the environment. The immediate reality, almost always located in Havana, is shown here from a kaleidoscopic and mutable vision.
La analogía que implica su título nos hace reflexionar y a la vez apreciar las obras que, cada uno de los artistas implicados concibió bajo el influjo de la realidad que transcurre en el espacio habanero.
En la muestra prevalece la pintura en óleo o acrílico sobre el formato tradicional de tela, además de técnica mixta y grafito.
The analogy implied by its title makes us reflect and at the same time appreciate the works that each of the artists involved conceived under the influence of the reality that takes place in the Havana space.
In the exhibition, oil or acrylic painting prevails on the traditional canvas format, as well as mixed media and graphite.
La obra de la serie "Caminos" de Alfredo Coello figura a la entrada, en el ala izquierda de la primera sala. Sorprende por la atmósfera disfusa, en la que apenas se distinguen los elementos del paisaje rural, con una carretera que nos invita a transitar y se pierde en la perspectiva.
The work from the "Caminos" series by Alfredo Coello appears at the entrance, in the left wing of the first room. It is surprising for its disguised atmosphere, in which the elements of the rural landscape are barely distinguishable, with a road that invites us to travel and is lost in the perspective.
En los espacios subsiguientes dialogan las obras de Leomar González González con una mirada hacia un espacio interior en analogía con la mente; Carlos Zorrilla con una composición de tonos cálidos encendidos; y de Alejandro Jurado con su obra Talk (Dibujo de otoño) de la serie “Colorfield”.
In the following spaces, the works of Leomar Gonzalez Gonzalez dialog with a look towards an interior space in analogy with the mind; Carlos Zorrilla with a composition of warm tones; and Alejandro Jurado with his work Talk (Autumn Drawing) from the "Colorfield" series.
En el centro resalta por sus dimensiones y factura la obra de Roger Toledo en seis paneles, que construye un paisaje desde la retina, siendo el más grande del salón con su vista marina muy original.
In the center, the work of Roger Toledo stands out for its size and workmanship in six panels, which builds a landscape from the retina, being the largest of the room with its very original marine view.
En el ala derecha, continúan las obras de artistas como: Dayron Gallardo, el cual imbrica la pintura de caballete con el recurso auditivo desde la tecnología, creando así una atmósfera única para el espectador; Frank Mujica con “Paisaje Camuflado lll” de gran formato; William Acosta con “Cambio de vida” que mezcla desde la transparencia arquitectura y paisaje; y por último, Leo De La O con “Ausencia habitada”.
In the right wing, the works of artists such as: Dayron Gallardo, which imbricates easel painting with the auditory resource from technology, thus creating a unique atmosphere for the viewer; Frank Mujica with "Paisaje Camuflado lll" large format; William Acosta with "Cambio de vida" that mixes architecture and landscape from transparency; and finally, Leo De La O with "Ausencia habitada" (Inhabited absence).
Completa la sala la obra de Víctor Manuel Ojeda, instalación titulada “La historia contada desde las piedras”, que rompe con las anteriores manifestaciones, en cierta medida puesto que involucra obras pictóricas de su autoría. Es ciertamente un resultado de un proceso de experimentación bien logrado, en el cual el artista interviene, en algunos casos, piedras calizas encontradas en los interiores de la ciudad, construyendo así una historia del espacio cubano desde las dificultades que implica el interior y no desde la mirada periférica.
The room is completed by the work of Víctor Manuel Ojeda, an installation entitled "La historia contada desde las piedras" (The story told from the stones), which breaks with the previous manifestations, to a certain extent, since it involves pictorial works of his own authorship. It is certainly the result of a well-achieved process of experimentation, in which the artist intervenes, in some cases, limestone stones found in the interiors of the city, thus building a history of the Cuban space from the difficulties that the interior implies and not from the peripheral look.
En la segunda sala confluyen obras de especial interés y riqueza, desde la variedad de manifestaciones como las ya mencionadas obras en MDF y grabado; esta última que construye la figuras desde la escritura, así como las piezas abstractas de Harold Ramírez, los dibujos de Levi Orta y las impresiones de Lisandra Isabel García y Ricardo Miguel Hernández.
The second room brings together works of special interest and richness, from the variety of manifestations such as the aforementioned works in MDF and engraving; the latter that builds the figures from writing, as well as the abstract pieces of Harold Ramirez, the drawings of Levi Orta and the prints of Lisandra Isabel Garcia and Ricardo Miguel Hernandez.
Predominan las pinturas sobre lienzo con artistas como: Antuan Mena; Yudel Francisco Cruz con una estética impresionista "Estas Bien ?"; Omar Tirado con su obra Grave para rosas, de la serie “Epistolario”, en la cual construye, a través de planos superpuestos, espacios hogareños interiores y exteriores en una misma composición; Gerardo Liranza, que impacta con su obra por la factura en el tratamiento de la arquitectura y la estructura peculiar de la composición con figuras geométricas; y por último, Yuri Santana con seis lienzos que representan a individuos de los barrios en sus actividades cotidianas de disfrute, con una postura realista desde los interiores de los barrios habaneros.
Paintings on canvas predominate with artists such as: Antuan Mena; Yudel Francisco Cruz with an impressionist aesthetic "Estas Bien ? "Omar Tirado with his work Grave para rosas, from the series "Epistolario", in which he constructs, through superimposed planes, interior and exterior home spaces in the same composition; Gerardo Liranza, who makes an impact with his work due to the treatment of architecture and the peculiar structure of the composition with geometric figures; and finally, Yuri Santana with six canvases that represent individuals from the neighborhoods in their daily activities of enjoyment, with a realistic posture from the interiors of Havana's neighborhoods.
En conclusión, “Un Mal Chiste a Niels Bohr” resulta una excelente experiencia tanto visual como conceptual que va más allá de la exquisita factura y dimensión de sus obras. Exhorto a que se acerquen al espacio acogedor de Galería Galiano a los que aún no la han visitado, e incluso a los que la visitaron, que como afirma su curador Abram Bravo Guerra en palabras al catálogo: El que piensa que entiende La Habana, es porque de verdad no la entiende. 😊👌
In conclusion, "A Bad Joke to Niels Bohr" is an excellent visual and conceptual experience that goes beyond the exquisite workmanship and dimension of his works. I urge those who have not yet visited Galiano Gallery, and even those who have visited it, to approach the cozy space of Galiano Gallery, because as its curator Abram Bravo Guerra states in words to the catalog: He who thinks he understands Havana, it is because he really does not understand it. 😊👌
