Hello dear artists, welcome to my new post! 😊 👋 To begin I want to dedicate this post to all the women on this platform because we are all incomparable👑. I am very happy to return to this community; Today I want to share with you one of my favorite techniques is the mosaic; with it we can obtain very beautiful results and we can do it to give it to a special person or to decorate a space giving it a personal touch... whatever we want and how we want!

I like to make crafts or drawings that remind me of things that I know I need to keep in mind... There was a day when I felt very overwhelmed with myself, I wanted to see something that would give me strength or make me feel strong, that's when I made this box... I was inspired by the image of an elegant woman who, apart from that, also gave me a lot of security and that was just what I needed at that moment, so I drew it.

And although we do not all have the same style, I know that all women have the strength to persevere and yes, one day we may not consider ourselves so strong, but that does not mean that we have stopped being so. In my case, seeing this painting on a daily basis helps me connect with that part of me and also reminds me that elegance is attitude more than appearance✨ 💖

To make this work👉most of the materials used are recycled♻️♻️. The cardboard that I used for the pieces is from several boxes of cologne that I had. As you can see, we don't need much to create a work of art, rather it is about knowing how to take advantage of what we have🖌️ 

For this post I had exactly what I wanted to do in mind, so I set out to find a photograph of an "elegant woman" and after searching for a long time I found the image that seemed ideal to me:

The first thing I did was make the following drawing trying to make it look as similar as possible to the guide image and after finishing drawing it, I outlined this entire sketch with a round tip marker. This sheet will serve as a template to know where to place each piece. There is also the option of starting to make the mosaic on this same sheet, but it seems more beautiful and practical to me to make a separate guide.

Next, I took the boxes of cologne that I mentioned earlier and cut them into small triangles of various sizes, since there were several boxes, I divided each color into three plastic cups...

This is the second time I've made a mosaic and one of the reasons why I like this technique so much is that I can use the materials that I had left over from other crafts because sometimes I have very small pieces of foam or cardboard left over and I don't want to throw them away because I find them very beautiful, good for this making a mosaic is an excellent option.

Now comes the good; Once the template is made and all the little pieces have been cut out, organize all the materials on the table. Then I took the template or the guide that I made in the first step, placed on it a white sheet and held both with a clip. As you can see through the sheet you can see the drawing of the girl; Here we can start gluing the pieces together. I started with her hat, first I spread the glue and with the help of the tweezers I placed each piece on the paper; like this until you fill this entire area completely.

I continued with her dress, I used red cardboard, I think the contrast that this tone makes with the black is very beautiful. As in the previous step, I was gluing each triangle until I filled all his clothing. In this part the mosaic is already taking shape...

While I was doing this work, several acquaintances asked me: "Isn't it tedious to hit one piece at a time?", well, on the contrary, this technique relaxes me a lot, I tend to be an anxious person and this craft type helps me manage my nerves and concentrate (something that usually costs me a lot)

We are almost there, as the next step I have taken my colored pencils and began to fill in the area of ​​her flesh-colored skin, drawing triangles of various sizes; the important thing is that they are all organized so that the design is better appreciated in this way. We can do this type of painting in several ways: we can make the fragments the same size, varying the shapes, etc... as creativity and inspiration dictate at that moment; I appreciate that freedom that art gives you to break the order and create something different.

I finished by drawing the last details, I couldn't forget to paint her lips red and outline them💄, I loved it, I'm very happy with the result, but… there is still one last step left, the next thing I did was square the drawing and stick it to a cardboard base to give it greater stability and to finish I made a frame with a sheet of paper...✨AND READY!✨
