Convirtiéndolas en esquineros es una forma estupenda de proteger tu colchón del polvo, los ácaros y otros elementos contaminantes, a ese lugar tan importante como lo es nuestra cama.
Today I want to share with all of you a simple way to give a second life to those sheets that we no longer use. Turning them into corner pieces is a great way to protect your mattress from dust, dust mites and other pollutants, that place as important as our bed.

Una vez que hemos tomado las medidas de alto y ancho de las esquinas del colchón de la cama, es importante anotarlas. Luego, colocamos la sábana sobre la mesa y la marcamos con alfileres, dejando el mismo margen de tela en todas las esquinas. Esto garantizará que el esquinero quede bien ajustado al colchón.
Once we have taken the height and width measurements of the corners of the bed mattress, it is important to write them down. Then, we place the sheet on the table and mark it with pins, leaving the same fabric margin in all corners. This will ensure that the corner piece fits snugly to the mattress.
Una vez que hemos marcado las esquinas de la sábana, doblamos la tela por la mitad, con el revés hacia adentro, de forma que las esquinas marcadas queden enfrentadas.
Luego doblamos la esquina derecha de la sábana hacia adentro, formando un triángulo. Cosemos el triángulo por el lado de adentro, con una costura recta y pequeña. Repetimos el proceso con la esquina izquierda.
Once we have marked the corners of the sheet, we fold the fabric in half, with the back side facing in, so that the marked corners are facing each other.
Then fold the right corner of the sheet inward, forming a triangle. Sew the triangle on the inside, with a small straight seam. Repeat the process with the left corner.
Una vez que hemos cosido las esquinas, cosemos la parte superior de la sábana, dejando un espacio de unos 10 centímetros para darle la vuelta.
Por último, le damos la vuelta a la sábana y la planchamos. El esquinero está listo para colocarlo en el colchón, acá les muestro el resultado final.
Once we have sewn the corners, we sew the top of the sheet, leaving a space of about 10 centimeters to turn it over.
Finally, we turn the sheet over and iron it. The corner piece is ready to be placed on the mattress, here I show you the final result.
