Canto de sirena

Carolina es una pequeña de solo 5 años que conozco desde que nació. Antes de llegar a este mundo sus papás decoraron su habitación con varias cosas que le hice en aquel momento.

Pero Caro, se siente "grande" y quiso que su mamá le cambiara el nombre para bebé que le hice hace 5 años. Quería que le mandara a hacer otro con sirenas, porque son lo más lindo del mundo según esta pequeña niña. Así llegó a mí el encargo, pero sería solo de la inicial del nombre.

Para complacer a Carolina creé este diseño que les comparto hoy. Les dejo la lista de materiales y mi proceso creativo. Recuerden que estos pueden variar según la condiciones de cada cual y su creatividad. No se limiten a mi idea, experimenten!!

Carolina is a little girl of only 5 years old that I have known since she was born. Before she came into this world her parents decorated her room with various things I made for her at the time.

But Caro, she feels "big" and wanted her mom to change the baby name I made for her 5 years ago. She wanted me to send her another one with mermaids, because they are the cuteest thing in the world according to this little girl. So the order came to me, but it would be just the initial of the name.

To please Carolina I created this design that I share with you today. Here is the list of materials and my creative process. Remember that these can vary according to the conditions of each one and their creativity. Don't limit yourselves to my idea, experiment!

Necesitaremos

• Cartón corrugado de 30 x 30cm
• Papel blanco reutilizado
• Papel fino (tipo seda) de desecho, que teñí de azul con tintes para ropa.
• Tiras de papel artesanal
• Pegamento
• Hilo de estambre color rosado
• Foami rosado
• Papel artesanal rosado, verde y beich
• Moldes
• Barniz acrílico
• Pintura dimensional rosada, negra y blanca
• Tira de lentejuelas
• Pistola y barra de silicona
• Cinta adhesiva doble cara
• Pinceles
• Tijera
• Cúter
• Lápiz

We will need

• 30 x 30cm corrugated cardboard
• Reused white paper
• Thin (silk-type) scrap paper, which I dyed blue with clothing dyes.
• Strips of handmade paper
• Glue
• Pink worsted yarn
• Pink foami
• Pink, green and beige craft paper
• Molds
• Acrylic varnish
• Pink, black and white dimensional paint
• Sequins strip
• Silicone gun and silicone stick
• Double-sided adhesive tape
• Brushes
• Scissors
• Cutter
• Pencil

Lo primero que haré será forrar el cartón por ambas caras con papel blanco reutilizado. Bastará aplicar una capa de pegamento y poner el papel. Después con la ayuda del molde marcaré y calaré la letra. Seguidamente forraré por el frente con el papel teñido de azul y una vez seco cortaré el excedente.

The first thing I will do is to line the cardboard on both sides with reused white paper. It will be enough to apply a layer of glue and put the paper. Then with the help of the mold I will mark and trace the letter. Then I will line the front with the paper dyed blue and once dry I will cut the excess.

Con las tiras de papel artesanal previamente cortadas cubriré los bordes expuestos del cartón y pintaré de color azul que combine con el papel que hemos utilizado antes.

With the previously cut strips of craft paper I will cover the exposed edges of the cardboard and paint in a blue color that matches the paper we used before.

Como quiero que mi decoración imite el fondo marino colocaré una capa de pegamento y esparciré arena sobre él.

As I want my decoration to imitate the seabed I will put a layer of glue and spread sand on it.

Con los moldes de las partes del cuerpo de la sirena marcaré y recortaré todo. Imitaré las escamas con la tira de lentejuelas.

With the molds of the mermaid's body parts I will mark and cut out everything. I will imitate the scales with the sequins strip.

Con todo listo dispondré de manera armónica toda la decoración sobre la letra. Pondré el pelo a la sirena y pintaré sus ojos y boca. Agregaré algunas conchas de mar, unas algas y aros blancos imitando burbujas. Finalmente daré una capa de barniz y pondré el adhesivo doble cara por la parte de atrás para poder pegarla en cualquier soporte. Así quedará terminada.

With everything ready I will arrange in a harmonious way all the decoration on the letter. I will put the mermaid's hair and paint her eyes and mouth. I will add some seashells, some seaweed and white rings imitating bubbles. Finally I will give a coat of varnish and put the double-sided adhesive on the back so I can stick it on any support. This is how it will be finished.
