Hi guys,
I just wanted to tell you about a series of posts I will be doing in this community. They are about the last pages in Arthur Schopenhauers "Aphorismen zur Lebensweisheit" (The Wisdom of Life) which again form part of his "Parerga und Paralipomena Part 1" (Parerga (greek: Appendices) and Paralipomena (greek: Omissions).
Arthur Schopenhauer, eight years after Parerga und Paralipomena came out.
In these pages, published in 1851 when he was 63 years old, Schopenhauer compares the stages of life with the planets of the solarsystem. Since he is writing metaphorically, he also sometimes equates the planet with the roman/greek god after which it has been named.
Most planets only get a few lines from Schopenhauer but I will take these paragrafs planet by planet and try to find some meaningfull interpretation of what he wrote. In doing so, I will also dive into the realms of classic myth and astronomy (at least a bit).
