That day, I took a leisurely walk in the small forest near the village, as usual, looking for something interesting to photograph. After the rain over the last few days, I knew this was the best time to find mushrooms. While walking along a path filled with leaves and twigs, my attention was drawn to a dead log covered in moss. There, I found a small pink mushroom with a shape like a small transparent bowl.

I realized that this was Geoscypha violacea, one of those unique mushrooms that I rarely come across. This mushroom looks elegant with its perfect shape, like a small glass that holds dew drops. I got closer and noticed the smooth texture on its surface. Sunlight penetrating from between the leaves makes the pink color even brighter.

To get the best photos, I put a macro lens on my camera. I chose an angle that shows these two mushrooms side by side, with a hazy forest green background to provide a beautiful contrasting effect. The natural light of the morning helps create soft shadows on these mushrooms.

I took the time to observe further. Although small, this mushroom teaches a big lesson—beauty often hides in unexpected places. Fungi such as Geoscypha violacea play an important role in the ecosystem, helping to decompose dead wood and returning nutrients to the soil.
