Leea indica | 12 09 2024 | North Acèh Regency, Acèh, Indonesia |
Leea indica is characterized by large, compound leaves with serrated edges. The flowers are small and yellowish green, forming clusters in a bunch. Although simple, this flower is very attractive to various insects, especially small bees and flies, which seem to be busy visiting its nectar.
I took a closer look at this flower using a macro lens. Up close, the delicate patterns on the flower crown are clearly visible, giving a unique and charming impression. I also noticed small green fruit starting to grow in some parts of the flower clusters.
Life Around Plants
Interestingly, this flower is not only a food source for insects. I also saw small ants moving actively around the flowers, perhaps looking for nectar or preying on other insects. This shows how important Leea indica is in the local ecosystem as a provider of food and shelter for various small creatures.
