Caterpillar of the common fruit-piercing moth

While walking in the garden, my eyes accidentally glanced at something interesting crawling on a branch of a plant. Its body was dark in color decorated with a unique pattern shaped like a pair of eyes ready to monitor the entire world. Its body was large and slightly long, at first glance it looked like a small snake. I didn't immediately approach it, afraid it was really a snake. After making sure first that it wasn't a snake, then I approached it.

At first it walked normally, its body straight. When I was taking pictures, suddenly it lifted its tail and the middle of its body up. I got a little goosebumps, afraid it would jump. I waited a moment to see what it would do next. Not long after, its head was buried under its body. Maybe that was one way to protect itself.

If you look closely, the scene it did was indeed an effective defense trick to deceive predators. The pattern in the form of eyes now seems to be more prominent, plus the white dots on its body that give a scary impression. It was a caterpillar of the common fruit-piercing moth, which is known in Latin as eudocima phalonia.
